You and some others on here can think what they want and beat their chest over that whole debacle, but the trophies are voted on by members of the press, not members of the Flyers fan club.

Many outside of the Flyers and some of their fans think it was a disgusting, childish display by the coach.

Not willing to argue this all over again, but the fact remains, he was suspended for refusing to do what the refs told him to do. It could hurt the voting.

And no, Torts wasn't right. Yes he was right to dispute the calls if he felt they were wrong. He was dead wrong to refuse to leave the bench after being told to, and the league backed that up with a multi game suspension.

Good night. Really would be nice if the leafs could bounce back and beat the caps tomorrow but they’ve been hit recently. I can’t believe how well they did on that west road trip.

Torts for Jack Adams! He wouldn't talk about Coots in his post game presser, but he did say something that caught my attention. He said he wants the young guys to experience games like this, and know that they can make mistakes and get thrown back out there!!

That Couturier has not been playing well is not in dispute. He shouldn't have been scratched. York is not a #1 defenseman and likely never will be.

That's a pretty brazen comment to say that he NEVER will be. 27 minutes of ice time with 3 assists and +3 rating in the last 2 games (should have had a goal this evening, but cross bar jumped up and bit him). Had a +2 rating against the Bruins in a game where they gave up 6. I know, small sample and all, but color me impressed with his game lately.

This is just total conjecture on my part, but I wonder if Torts scratched Coots to try and get a rise out of him. Like piss him off and have a confrontation. Perhaps he doesn't like that his new named captain is too mellow? I dunno...
