Couturier played pretty solidly for most of the first half of the season. Remarkably well for a player that missed almost two full seasons. He does not have a skating issue. Whatever issue he is dealing with now is not an issue that he has had for the entire season. Stating that he has had issue keeping up with the pace of play is unfounded.

Did you watch the replay yet?

Which replay? I'm sorry but I've been away at tournaments with my kids so have not been paying attention as much.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. I just would like to point out that not every Russian prospect is serving in the Army.
Also, i did read a lot of Russian media (in native tongue) when Fedotov's incident happen, and I believe in the points I made.

Hockey players substitute military obligations for time in the KHL. Which is why Michkov has to stay in the KHL for 3 years before coming over.

Not even remotely the same situation. Unless you are just going by they are both Russian, then I guess if you focus out to that extent you can say it's the same.

The replay of the goal off of the faceoff in the Bruins game that you blamed Attard for.

Did you make any creepy signs for your kids tournaments?

Yes, I am referring to Russian unpredictability and strong dependency of any kind of decision on political situation. Additionally, Fedotov's case showed feudal relationships between athletes and the brass, both atletic and political (in Fedotov's case it was the same). Do we have any guarantee that Michkov will be let go from this relationship?
- missingmike

Nobody is arguing that. The premise was the poster saying it's ridiculous that Michkov could match Konecny's point totals.

I really wish that the entire front office and coaching staff of the Flyers would be fired so that some of the geniuses on here could take over!!

I wish the Flyers' last Cup wasn't 49 years ago.

In my opinion, I don't feel that the either the Isles or the Caps are going to go on sustained winning runs. They will have slumps and be up and down. Right now the Caps are up and the Isles are down. The Flyers still have a decent shot at making the playoffs in my opinion. They have to get their team game back together. The defenseman are not the only issue defensively right now.

What i see is that with the loss of Walker Drysdale and Seeler, we are having more trouble exiting our zone. D is on the forwards too sure, but I think this is where the struggles begin. These struggles have also affected the tending. The chances being given up are 10 bell opportunities and we have to support the Gs a lot better than we have.

They have been hemorrhaging goals on the PK and in general, and that needs to stop for them to stabilize. I don't think they can go 0 for the next five games and still make it.

I'm seeing from certain Flyers writers that Risto and Drysdale are probably done for the season. There is no help coming other than possibly Seeler. It is looking bleak.

if they do miss the playoffs the message will be we shouldn't have traded walker, injury to seeler and RR (while granted their is a lot of truth to it) and what not. Which will lead to, imo, at least 1 big singing on D and a possibly a lesser one vet. They will expedite the "rebuild"

wonder if the coach will hold himself accountable for running out a such an inept PP all year.

Which poster said that? Certainly not me. I simply asked how many points Michkov would need to score over 122 games to be "way better" than the 119 points TK has managed to put up as the Flyers best offensive player under Torts.

What is creepy about an "I love MJL" sign? Do you have any sense of humor what-so-ever?

So the thing on that goal is clearly TK and Staal got tangled up with each other and both went towards Marchand who pulled them both wide and then sent a pass to Coyle for the easy tap in. My problem on that play was 1. Why the heck was Attard the defenseman lined up against the boards on that face off and 2. Attard was slow to get over and cover the crease once he saw both TK and Staal going after Marchand. Attard was also soft on the first Bruins goal where he backed in towards his own net versus stepping out to challenge Geekie with his stick forward to potentially deflect the puck up and out of play.

This highlights my issue with how the Flyers are working with defensive zone coverages between the Phantoms and the Flyers. They clearly are not executing defensive zone coverages the same way, so when a Ginning or an Attard come up from the AHL, they are going to be prone to making these kinds of mistakes because it takes time to understand and execute dzone reads and coverages properly.

The other issue I have had with Attard is I just feel he is soft and gets pushed around too easily. I know he is young but he is not that young. I liked Ginning's game against Florida much better and wish I could see more of him.

I am afraid you are right, the way his arm was dangling from his side after that hit did not look good to me. Even if he doesn't need surgery, it had to be at dislocated which takes 12 weeks to heal on average, so that means he is done for the season.

Jd must be going soft. He hasn't even blamed the Bruins loss on Frost only being +3 instead of +4.

I'm not at all surprised at this response.

You constantly make comments about others never having played the game or just relying on stats and claims about watching the game but yet you don't even know the basic fundamentals of defensive alignment on a defensive zone faceoff. Attard was not slow to react. He had no chance to get there. You incorrectly blamed Attard on that goal.

Even before Frost scored that goal off a great feed from Owen Tippet, I posted it here from the game that I thought Frost was playing very well, hustling for every puck, great on the back check, etc. I am fair if nothing else.

Do you want to talk hockey or just insult me like a troll?

IMO he was slow to react, but again, I think the biggest problem here is Attard comes up and has to learn a different dzone coverage than what he was used to all season the Phantoms. That is the problem here.

Where is your sense of humor?

No, it's not a problem. What's a problem is that you don't know even the basic fundamentals of hockey which is why you make so many flawed opinions. Boston ran a set play on a faceoff and Staal and Konecny botched it.

This is exactly an example of how you're not fair. You comment that you want to see Frost play well against top teams even after he has had strong games against TB, Winnipeg, Dallas and Colorado. You ignored that. It's a guarantee that you will also ignore this game in the future.
