Not sure but I would not be surprised if RyJo, Atkinson and Petersen got bought out. It's pretty clear all three players do not have Torts seal of approval.
So what's better? having $14mil on your cap for three players you do not want or having $4.7mil next year and $4.7mil the following year? - mickel25
me for where the flyers are at I just ride it out.
now imo the flyers think they are close than they are may want the extra space now. |

Good on the Flyers for planning to sign Wayne Simmonds to a one day contract and honor him in April as he retires. Interesting fact. Simmonds got Selke votes in his 2nd year of his ELC with the Kings. - Minnyhock
This is great news! Top 5 Flyer for me. I love Wayne Simmonds!! |

Since Kolosov is, in fact, under contract with the Flyers and the Flyers loaned him to the KHL, can he play in the playoffs if he arrives within the next week or so? Anyone know? Not like adding a free agent or a trade. |

I agree. I would try to move all three but would just ride out the year if no one is a taker.

cam at 50% and 6th to san jose for a 7th is something that may be doable. sharks may want that "vet" around. though can also sign a free agent for less. |

As I said, fantastic news. I'm a big fan. For such a slight guy, he was a fierce fighter that no one wanted to tangle with. TBH, I can't remember an occasion where he got really beaten in a fight. |

They won't be able to take on a D-man with a high AAV and keep TK. Unless they are able to move Risto and a few other players.
It would be typical Flyers though. I believe the 2024 picks are 100% in play. - mickel25
They'll trade our first round pick to Calgary for Kadri, and keep the Florida pick, and pick 32...Welcome to Flyerville

I mentioned kadri a while back. would not be surprising. though i think it would be for the florida pick.

Making the playoffs because other teams suck worse is not my idea of a good time. And I do not see how that could be good for the younger players, which supposedly, the playoffs are absolutely vital to their development. - mr4tno
It may not be a “good time,” it’s just where they are at this stage of the rebuild/retool, or whatever they’re calling it. If they make it, it’s just a step towards getting this thing turned around. Lots of bad years to remove themselves from. They are not going to go from a 60 point team, to winning the cup. At some point along the way, they’re going to get in, not being a complete team with a legitimate chance. They are in a playoff spot as we sit here today, might as well ride it wherever it takes us. |

Charlie O’Connor said Briere was talking to Ottawa a lot before the deadline and that the Senators were interested in Laughton Also Winnipeg and the Flyers scouted each other a ton for months even after Ristolainen went down. It couldn’t have just been for Walker. I can see something happening with both those teams this offseason. |

Probably because Johansen's 4 million counts against the cap and they need to get under.

Yeah but you can't waive an injured player. So his 4M hits the cap completely instead of partially buried, which was the original plan and would have kept us cap compliant. |

Yes, and you can't send down an injured player if I am reading everything correctly.

So basically the Flyers are just a dumping ground so the AV’s can clear cap space to load up for a Cup run |

Price of getting a first round pick for Walker I guess.
