Must win all 3, 2 of which need to be in regulation, if not all 3 in regulation.

A Sabres victory over the Red Wings tonight pulls them to within 5 points of a playoff spot. With 16 games to go.

These next 3 games are PIVITOL

Moneypuck odds:

Currently 1.4%
Win tonight in regulation: 2.34%
Win in OT: 1.89%
Lose in OT: 0.78%
Lose in Regulation: 0.61%

Hope you are right Taco. Just worry they will be the wrong one's. Who ever said they were going after Couture, I hope that is wrong. Guy probably won't ever play again.

that's a legitimate concern.

To the bold, I'm genuinely curious: How would top of the mark players become realistic options by a Skinner departure?

Logan Couture is all but immovable as a healthy player.

As for the Sabres, you would need a healthy player and 75% retention to make him worth it.

So the 24' top 10 pick won't be a small but talented center with limitless potential that walks onto the team that held a spot for him while the fans praise the heart from the 18 year old who tries....while the team misses the playoffs?

I don't see that happening, who would allow something like that to play out in the NHL?

Imagine a franchise that lets its players decide what’s best for the organization.

How much in assets would it take to get a team to take on Skinner and his $9M per for the next 3 seasons?

Keep in mind he has a full NMC as well, so he'd have to approve where they're dumping his contract.

Think he's going to want to go to Arizona and play in Mullet Arena...?

That's my point. They absolutely can, but they aren't. That's why they outright cut players and didn't fully kick Josh Allen's cap hit wide open.
- buffalofan19

I mean the players we cut were getting old or injured.

Poyer - old and past his prime
Tre white - injured
Neal - older
Mitch Morse - older - yes a weird cut that I didn’t understand

I don’t see how getting rid of older players is throwing away a season as not trying for a superbowl.

They have plenty of money to spend still and beane is doing his normal methodical signings / resigning.

No idea, it would depend if he bounces back next year IMO, I doubt he's tradeable as is. As far as the NMC, that's kind of besides the point. I want him moved if feasible, if he isn't going to waive we're stuck with him and I think you have to think long and hard about a buyout.

For the first time, Donny is actually pushing Skinner down the lineup for an extended period...so I think some of the veneer is wearing off. That being said, no, I don't think they've gotten to the point of considering a buyout/paying to trade him. The cap space they have makes this less of an issue, but IMO, they should be talking to him/his agent about waiving if the opportunity presents itself.

For now, I think it's injury related....not that he was having a good year before.
