I disagree on Kane. He has meshed really well and couple that with the attractiveness of 2024-5 UFAs considering Detroit, he is an asset to hold onto. We are still in the mix.

I feel that a major issue is coaching. The constant tinkering is preventing the opportunity to solidify identity. Lalonde is soft. I’ll say it. I like the guy, but he is probably an assistant coach at the NHl level. Of course I’m wishing for a coach like Joel Quenneville.

To that end, and why I would ask, he’s had a stated desire to stay near the area at this point. I don’t know if that factors in, but he’s clearly very fond of seeing the young one and it may be very tough to go anywhere. If this were a vet that had never won a cup, different scenario but there may be personal attachments to make him want to stay

What other team would put him on a top line, or with a sniper such as DeBrincat. Kane is looking for a good fit where he can produce and be successful. You can see he eats up the feeling of belonging. He didn’t get that in New York.

He does seem to love it, but still hasn’t looked the same since the Washington game. Seems to be more “stern” looking. Can still skate and make plays all day. Total speculation, after the adrenaline I think going back to Chicago got to him a little.

I love having him here. You can’t get that kind of player on the ice for the young players to watch like Yzerman managed. The more time/years our players can learn from him the better.

I’m still waiting for the wire to report Jonathan Toews has signed a PTO with the Wings. And if I was Scotty Bowman, I’d play him like Dandenault…. Taking face offs on one hand, and D on the other.

I’d for sure ask him what he wanted to do. He’s got that rare spot of having 3 cups and a hall of fame career where he can take it or leave it. Very interesting scenario

Honestly, I'd trade him if he agreed to come back.....Seriously, he's become a very integral part of this team through his play AND his demeanor. Keeping him should be #3 with Mo & Rayzor 1 & 2. He's made a world of difference on this team.
