How far away from the Show are those 3? Jesse Marshall mentioned Jackson Blake. I was curious about Nadeau. - j.boyd919
All three are probably a couple years out. Morrow and Blake closer than Nadeau.
Blake's a legit Hobey Baker candidate this year. Morrow will need a year in the AHL at least. |

If the Pens are selling, they should be selling Smith, Eller, Guentzel, Acciari, Rakell, Ruhwedel and Ned. I'd probably shop POJ too. Ask Carter if he wants to go to a contender (if they'd want him). - j.boyd919
As I stated above Im not sure I ship out Rak. Listen, sure. Obviously if an offer blows you way, but don’t think you sell just to sell on him. |

I'll agree with that, I think he probably regresses to a better season next year. It's probably going to be Rakell-Sid-Rust first line anyways haha.

Id get rid of him in a heartbeat if we can. I don't think he is a plus value with his contract. Fine player but not at $5M for the next 4 seasons after this one. |

Rak was truly snake bitten. I don't have any stats or anything, but I thought he got robbed a ton this season. Especially early. I wouldn't trade him either. Too hard to replace all our top 6 players. I think he's still a legit top 6 player.

Trade whoever the heck the senators want for brady Tkachuk. Preferably EK and his 10 mil..Toss malkin in there also. I sound like a toronto fan.

You stole mine. I think it's like a 5-10% chance that some GM thinks he fills a leadership gap. |

They're trying to build a winner around Sid. This year's washed but we can't trade all of our top 6 forwards away for prospects and think we'll be able to give Crosby a competitive team. That's a full scale top down tear down. Guentzel is expiring, Smith didn't fit, but Rust and Rakell can be good vets to complement whatever young players we manage to bring in. - Victoro311
They just need to maximize value here in whatever way they can get it. If we are offered 2 1sts for Jake we should take it and move on to the next deal. Those 1sts can be traded for good NHL players.
Zona and Columbus are both looking for 1sts and have a load of players I would be interested in.

1st, young roster player, and prospect(s) apparently.
So a 1st rounder, Jack Drury or Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and Jackson Blake. |

Arizona is going to be desperate for contracts.
They have $16 million in dead cap space coming off the books this summer and have no defensemen signed. None.
They'll need to add $20+ million just to hit the floor next year.

Usually an indication they have a set deal they will accept and have told the other teams up your price or hes gone tomorrow night. |

New Jersey is getting hot for a goalie and it sounds like Markstrom might not be available... Dubas needs to get on the phone with Fitzgerald and sell him on Jarry. |

I know, further to my point of wanting to deal with them. Im not just talking about picks for players. Im thinking something involving Rackell & Graves going there with one or more 1sts for Keller. Or a lesser package for Crouse or Schmaltz.
Keller is still only 25 and this is the last year Zona can trade him before his NTC kicks in. He would be a great add if we are looking to get younger and still compete with this core.

Oh man, the change winds.. They're coming.... For me it's both exciting and sad... What unfolds this week could piss us off or please us greatly... Perhaps a mixed bag of both.... |

I don't think anything can me excited for next season besides a coaching change.
I hope I'm wrong but I gots the feeling this Jake trade will be underwhelming. |

I'd be lying if I said I'm not disappointed we are trading Jake. You cant risk losing him in the summer so I get it... but I would have much preferred a long term deal. One of the weirder situations because it felt like they were never close to a deal or really ever made an attempt. |

The only thing that could piss me off is if we do nothing. Dubas took a swing last year and missed. I'd rather him take another swing at it for next season than sit on his hands and expect it to get better.

Surprised Graves has a 12 team NTC and Accari too…might be stuck with those guys for the time being. |

From Chris Johnston: "The expectation is that Guentzel will be dealt by the #pens as a rental. It doesn't sound like potential acquiring teams have shown much interest in trying to work out an extension as part of the trade."
Whats interesting there is that apparently the teams we have been talking to havent been trying to work out a contract extension. Interesting because we could end up with assets in hand still a chance at signing him in the offseason.

Acciari probably not a big deal. Those 12 teams are probably all bottom feeders and it’s usually teams who view themselves as contenders at the deadline that go for guys like Acciari.
Graves’ contract is too big and poopty to move at the deadline, he’s an offseason type of trade if you can swing it at all and at that point the no trade list becomes important |

Agreed that it's an offseason trade, but at this point I'm guessing Graves hates being here so much that he'll go to any other team. Consider any list of teams to be waived. |
