A game changer you were calling a bust of a trade up until you disappeared for the rest of the season when we started to look good. - Victoro311
Indeed...the Pens were not good with Kessel under Mike Johnston's coaching. Then Sully was named coach in January of that season and they catapulted up the standings, to the finals and hoisted.

Acciari. No ones talking about him but he makes a lot of sense. His contract is definitely above his value but in a vacuum it’s not that much and something teams can definitely handle. There is absolutely no point in us keeping him and it’d be good to get him off the books.
To a lesser extent Eller. He’d be attractive if we made him available but he might be useful for us next year if we keep him and figure out how to successfully retool. |

Jarry? Although maybe that would not be unexpected.
I have a feeling that Jake, Smith, Rakell, Jarry are on their way out. Maybe Rhuwedel in a package deal? Would love to see Graves packing ...might be a hard one to get done since he has been exposed as mediocre this year. |

I was surprised that Graves got signed to that deal. The dude was absolutely atrocious in the playoffs for Jersey. |

I saw something on Twitter that Edmonton is willing to offer 2 1st round picks and so far Pittsburgh has rejected them. |

I would be stunned. Also Edmonton would need double retention or the Pens to take back a roster player to make it work. |

I wouldnt be shocked to see Edmonton being desperate. They are under the most pressure in the West to get through.
Vancouver/Winnipeg - no one thought they'd be here
Colorado/Vegas - last 2 Cup winners
Im sure a team like Dallas is as well, but no where near the pressure Edmonton should be feeling.

As long as the player is on an expiring contract, I don't see why we wouldn't be willing to take back anybody for a good return. |

There were a lot of surprised signings/terms done by Hextall and Dubas. The song "Sabotage" kept playing in my head when I heard about some of the moves, both in salary and in term.
With Graves, I still remember the "Pittsburgh adds a big defender" headline. He is big but plays like a mouse.

Teams poking around rust but Dubas won’t ask Rust to waive. Don’t expect a trade there right now - Victoro311
I know he's injured, but I don't see why they wouldn't at least hear people out about Rust, especially Detroit who is loaded with prospects. He's got 4 more years of contract with is certainty to another team, also he may fade those years while playing for us. Get younger?
Keep him to keep Sid happy sure, but let's see if an offer blows them away. |

Sully says he's out injured tonight. Assuming he's not lying to keep him healthy for a trade, that's not bueno. |

Sounds like a good deal given Edmonton won't be late round picks. |

I *think* Dubas knows he can get a much better deal in the offseason. It’ll give teams more of an opportunity to move cap space and work a deal.
Could also be out of respect for Rust. Letting him have a larger say for where he wants to spend the next few years. |

They're trying to build a winner around Sid. This year's washed but we can't trade all of our top 6 forwards away for prospects and think we'll be able to give Crosby a competitive team. That's a full scale top down tear down. Guentzel is expiring, Smith didn't fit, but Rust and Rakell can be good vets to complement whatever young players we manage to bring in. |

If the Pens are selling, they should be selling Smith, Eller, Guentzel, Acciari, Rakell, Ruhwedel and Ned. I'd probably shop POJ too. Ask Carter if he wants to go to a contender (if they'd want him).

Dubas will wait to see if someone with a higher pick bucks up before accepting anything from Edmonton. That owner in Vegas will probably put 1/2 their team on LTIR and put up a better return anyway.

How far away from the Show are those 3? Jesse Marshall mentioned Jackson Blake. I was curious about Nadeau.
