It’s Poutywood it’s both. He’s more brash when he has his back ups too.
- Quinn's Quest

If you guys only want to hear how amazing your mock line ups & trade proposals are then this may not be the place for you.

I think it’s mock trades that keep this place going.
The idea of trading JTM was fun last year.
Lots of frustration when he wasn’t moved at the TDL.
Now it’s Pettersson.

- dbot

Except the team was near the bottom last year and is near the top this year. You would think people's priorities would shift

Do you visit a hockey rumour website with the intention of getting pissed off or just to mock others in an attempt to feel superior?
- dbot

Little column A, little column B.

Certainly nothing to do with actual hockey fandom

Elliotte said Rutherford brought the trade to Pettersson and his camp:

"He brought it to the table and said if you aren't going to give us an answer, this is something we're going to consider."

There is reportedly an offer on the table for Pettersson's contract in the range of $90M to $96M, according to Nick Kypreos.

They're basically giving him two options, sign or trade.

- manvanfan

I’m obviously for the 90m. 8/11.25m

Rumour of that Carolina deal according to Sat was
Necas
Kotkaniemi
1st round pick
Bradley Nadeau and possible another prospect.

That is a deal I would give a ton of consideration too.

Not quite sweetened enough for me.

Didn't say you weren't a fan. Said you weren't here to discuss the Canucks/express fandom

Could be for a number of reasons. Maybe the Carolina offer put them on alert that they can get a package worth more than they thought they could have. Maybe they're playing the game and realize they can squeeze Petey for a little more money now. I don't think this management group gives two poops about what the local media is saying
- NewYorkNuck

Mgmt doesn’t care about media in the slightest nor should they. PA plays it close to the vest & has to keep all options open.

Nah that’s a good take. JR doesn’t strike me as kissing a players ass. Fans might kiss ass but it’s about winning & not letting anything get in the way. Gotta be the boss cuz players don’t dictate they play.

Amazing how the Canucks have played roughly the same way for most of the season, yet they've had these big swings in results. Hmm...

Selected spans? That means the info presented is worthless. Shouldn’t each span be at least similar on number of games? If not is that just cherry-picking?

13 games
13 games
23 games

Really I don't buy that argument anyway. That's like saying if a guy scored 40 goals last season but he hasn't scored one through 50 games this year, you can't say he's lost his scoring touch because the sample sizes are too different.

Not necessarily. Showing their streaks doesn't have to be a static or set amount of games.

So this graph basically shows that during their losing skids they didn’t play very well and during their winning streaks they were playing well?

If you want to simplify it even further you could say during their losing streak they lost more games than they won, and during their winning streaks they won more games than they lost.

But no, if you read it it gives you a little more information than that, if you're into that sort of thing. If you're not, you can just skip over it.

Essentially what it shows is that apart from the first few games of the season, the Canucks play has largely been quite consistent in the way they play, how much they control play, etc. They have, however, had big swings in shooting and save %, which have directly contributed to winning and losing streaks. For all the people in here who have been dunking on PDO and other similar stats this year, it completely destroys their arguments.

How did they have a 17-2-4 record in 21 games?

Game count must be wrong on the chart, the record is what matters

Oddly enough some still think that dump and chase is the way to win hockey games, when NHL teams would rather force a team to do that.
- manvanfan

God you're a dipshit sometimes. You dump it in to get the Defence to start turning at the blueline. Once they start thinking you're dumping all the time it creates space to carry it in. Then you can do things like fake dumps. Why do you think every Coach on the planet talks about establishing a Forecheck? You're trying to back them up not run right into them.

Dump ins need speed & timing. Make D make mistakes in deep. I’ve no problem with it but need the puck hounds winning the battles or creating turnovers.
