If they do the Canes deal, and Lindholm walks for a bigger contract than he's worth, it will be interesting to see what the back up plan is. Kotkaniemi has a career high 43 points. Not going to cut it....
Canucks would go from being the envy of the league last season having Petey Miller Horvat down the middle to Miller(32 next season), Kotkaniemi, Suter, Blueger and shopping the UFA market for a top 6 center. Let's look at the UFA market.... Hmmm... not very good at all and there will be competition for those players... over payment and gambles.
Management was content on waiting until summer to work out the deal. They said it over and over. Canucks are not falling out of a playoff spot. So why has it changed from being content to desperate to resolve this before TDL? Nothing other than fans and local media losing their poop and management panicking over it.
Even if Lindholm signs here... is that really going to cut it? He isnt working out with the current players we have.
I see more disastrous outcomes than solutions with trading away a 25 year old center of Peteys caliber unless a deal involves a high end C. I just want the fans to be happy though. - boonerbuck
I think all the chatter is affecting Petey. |

This is the moronic line up I was referring to. You have a healthy Joshua in there, not injured. Why break up Joshua, Blueger & Garland if they are all healthy unless you eat crayons on the short bus. - Marwood
Because this is a mock lineup of a fictitious team that doesn’t exist and I spread the players around.
Sometimes I think you take things a wee bit too seriously. 😐

I said 4-2. They are in a funk right now and it was easy money. Had $100 on LA and got 2/1 so it was a quick $200 back lol. Now I can make another run at Gulfstream this weekend Pick 6 should be over 6 mil - LordHumungous
I am not sure it is a funk as much as it the schedule is a lot harder now and teams are starting to play a tighter game. Avs Jets Kings VGK . Lots of tough games ahead.

Could be for a number of reasons. Maybe the Carolina offer put them on alert that they can get a package worth more than they thought they could have. Maybe they're playing the game and realize they can squeeze Petey for a little more money now. I don't think this management group gives two poops about what the local media is saying |

It's a team effort not one single player and currently they all look like sh!t.
I'm sure Tocchet has a plan. But we knew that play 1st half was not sustainable.
Bottom line is if we continue at .500 over the last 20 games PO are assured. But the seeding will look way different if we don't finish 1st in the division. I guess no matter who we play first rounds are always tough but would be nice to go in on a high. - LordHumungous
Honestly, RT looks like he has run out of ideas. How much more can he blend lines? If he has a plan... why wait?
Fans are not going to chill out on Petey. Even when he was on fire in Jan and 2nd star of the NHL, the fans were already after him over the 12m rumors. It's not going away even if he signs. He is done here. No one wants to play in a never ending hostile environment. Look how distracting it is to everyone on the team right through to the coaches. It may be the summer but it's over.
Demko or Hughes up next. We saw this already last season with Hughes so any excuse about him not being paid like Petey so it won't happen has already been debunked. He was dragged through the poop regardless already.

I think it’s this.
Mgmt wants to know what cards they have to play now and are flexing on Petey. |

Do you roll your Dungeons & Dragons dice before making these fictitious line ups of teams that don't exist? |

When management spins the Horvat return to " we got three 1st round picks back", clearly they care about what fans and media think or they wouldn't go out of their way to manipulate like that. They care.
The fan connection I'm talking about is the disruption anyways. They care about that because it's a giant distraction and hurting the team. |

Do you visit a hockey rumour website with the intention of getting pissed off or just to mock others in an attempt to feel superior? |

Them caring about it and them feeling panicked/pressured are two different things. They clearly care about how the locals feel about the team as a whole, they don't care about the media chatter leading up to any of their decisions. |

Maybe... but nothing is supporting them not caring right now.
On the other hand, they've gone from agreeing to wait and "no pressure" to ultimatums at the very same time the meltdown with fans and media reached chaotic level and the team getting more and more fragile. So it's worth more consideration than people want to admit. |

Thanks NYN. Too many mistakes ended up in back of the net. Mental fatigue plaguing their play. Other teams are dealing with their schedules. Can Canucks recover and clean up their game for a March push?
Adding players can give a lift. However, the team must be playing well in order for that to be effective. - Quinn's Quest
I thought it was a lack of composure. |

Looks like the wheels are falling off in Van The smoke is clearing and we are now finding out that they are not the team that started fast. It is the old story of the hare and the turtle Quick start then become lazy and cocky All of a sudden the turtle methodical ends up beating the cocky hare |

It’s Poutywood it’s both. He’s more brash when he has his back ups too. |

It’s March and Canucks are 1st in division and conference. After being 1st in NHL for so long they’re only 1 point back. But that’s not the race it’s the warm up jockeying for position. The Canucks know it. Do you?
If anyone is being cocky it’s you for counting them out and parading over it. No one has won sh!t until the playoffs. |
