It's called PDO.

Or, if you're James Tanner, you call it "luck" no matter the sample size.

while nylander is 2 years younger than jake, jake has had much more playoff success and their #s are very similar. Nylander just signed for 8 years, $92M. Spittin Chicklets is saying no way he gets under $10M/yr. But do the pens want a 37 year old jake making north of $10M? trade him, get some assets, and if they sign him in the off season, great. but because he isnt currently on the roster, the max they can offer is 7 years.

Dubas' job is to get as many assets back as possible to do what the Kings did, not what the sabres are doing. The 1st round pick for EK is top 10 protected. If they keep that pick this year and get a 1st for jake, that would be two 1st round picks this year. Thats a good start.

I'd love to see a split of when DOC plays LW v RW. Always seems like a much better player to me at LW.

Real nice game for Puustinen too. He's a guy I remain unconvinced on, but they should be giving a good opportunity to the rest of the way.

And when he's healthy, get Poulin up here too.

Puustinen, Phillips, Puljujarvi, and now Bennstrom. Pens certainly have an odd collection of players on the RW depth chart behind Rust. Plenty of opportunity for someone to step up and prove they deserve a spot on next year's roster.

Seems like Dubas is trying to catch lightning in a bottle with some of these moves. I think Phillips will get waived today. Pulj did not distinguish himself at all from what I've seen. Haas has a pretty good scouting report on Bennstrom. If Cbus is giving him up for basically nothing, I'm not expecting much, but you never know. I get the feeling he's going to be a filler player when they move a couple of people.

You know the saddest part about the pens situation? They are the only team not in a playoff spot with a positive goal differential.

It's been that way all year. Before Xmas the Caps were in 3rd in the Metro somehow at -30 and the Pens 7th with +15.

Agree, he's been doing that all year. He's brought in about ten waiver level players hoping somebody stuck with the opportunity. Nobody has.

It's still crazy to me they gave Puljujarvi a two year deal, and benched him in a couple weeks.

Bemstrom is already better than Carter, Neito, Harkens, Acciari, and whatever other plug they have in their bottom six. Eller is probably the only player better than him.

Penguins have been terrible in 1 goal games and specifically OT games. Not expected for an older team. They struggle to close games out.

Power play woes and not practicing 3v3. Coaching issue.

Dan Bylsma was an awful coach, but they practiced shootouts all the time. Remember mustache boy? Between MAF being really good at stopping them and the Pens being really good at 1v1, it made a difference in the standings. Love it or hate it, the shootout was part of the game. Just like 3v3 now. The Pens have lost the extra point several times this year. Obviously Sullivan thinks 3v3 is garbage, but IT'S PART OF THE GAME you f'n idiot. No excuse for never practicing it.

Because they're 7 points out of a wild card spot with 4 games in hand....9 points out of 3rd in Metro with 3 games in hand with games left against the team that is 3rd....and there's 28 games/56 standings points left on the line

We should really take a shot on Adam ruzicka. Had some decent numbers in Calgary last year, young, good size, probably doesn’t run out of energy ever so long as he can get to the locker room between shifts.
