What's not to love about DOC? Wish we had a couple more of him. He never steals a paycheck, that's for sure.

You can tell some of these guys are pissed we’re sellers going into the deadline. Hope that motivation is taken into next year by whoever’s still here. Just missing the playoffs and then being out of it for basically the whole season on back to back years will hopefully awaken an incredible (geriatric) hulk.

Grinder in (frank)ing knots trying to justify how he argues that we should employ Tom Sestito because Sid likes playing with goons but Sid not wanting to play for another coach shouldn’t matter and we should fire Sullivan.

I’m actually team clean out the coaching staff though.

- Victoro311

I couldn't agree more, but I'm certain the owner completely agrees with Sid. Sullivan won't go anywhere. Reardon will be the fall guy is my guess.

I’m somewhat ok with that since Reardon absolutely needs to go but Sullivan really should be fired.

I am totally team coach clear out as well. Should have been a month or so ago. That is the first step before becoming sellers IMO... to see if this group can gain some consistency under fresh voices and ideas. They really have been good to great for a chunk of this season haha but also from not very good to bad as well

Is it just me or does Sid look almost disinterested? Or was he injured earlier? That 4-on-4 he just kind of glided around.

Nylander and a 6th for Emil Bemstrom
- j.boyd919

Don’t we have 3 Emil’s in the system now?

In 1 goal losses, the Pens PP is 10% this year. That's the season right there. Won't be a complex evaluation at the end of the season.

How'd we look tonight? I missed the game.

Just got home. Our program rented one of the outdoor rinks in Boston tonight and held a mites winter classic. The ice was terrible, but the kids loved it ... I don't recommend trying to coach 7 and 8 year olds this late at night though.

Thanks. Must've been a one off perception at that moment. Great to see a W tonight.

In 5 of the last 9 drafts, the Sabres drafted in the 1-7 Range. Ryan's comment about them always being in the 8-16 range is misleading.

Listening to some random podcast with Elliot Friedman, a Guentzel trade was proposed to him:

Jake (1/2 retained) for Foegele, Beau Akey, 2024 1st & 2025 3rd.

He said he really likes the trade and thinks it makes sense for both teams. Seems pretty good to me. Akey was a 2nd rounder for Edmonton last year, mobile, offensive defenceman who is a right shot... something we are lacking in the system. Just FWIW.

See, this is exactly like the steelers. Canada was the fall guy and the steelers kept tomlin...Reirdon is the fall guy and sullivan is saved again.

Their fans booed the Sabres at home games whenever they scored because they wanted to tank for McDavid. Those fans get everything they deserve.

I get wanting to tank for a prospect when he's a can't-miss like McDavid. But the players on the ice are trying to play their best, and to have their home fans boo them when they played well was disgusting.

Idk, I think if a bidding war occurs I could see more coming back from Edmonton. Especially since their pool of prospects is kinda weak. Plus Akey just had a severe shoulder dislocation injury where he needed it surgically repaired and it ended his season. I've seen a few proposals with a combination of Holloway or McLeod and Bourgault. I could see Nedeljkovic being included.

Also on a current 1-0 streak in games where they score more goals than their opponent. Probably just a coincidence.

...and its just more proof that rebuilds are no guarantee. I'm certainly not in a rush for one, though I must say I am bit more ready right now than I was in the summer haha. However, who knows...some moves here and there they might be a more consistent team next season...or they could be worse.

Their ceiling right now (meaning the remainder of Crosby's tenure) is probably the post-Cup Red Wings teams. First-round fodder who might pull off an upset and max out in the second round. Which, when you balance that against 3 Cups, is not the worst thing.
