They have 0 chance of the playoffs. And that’s not an angry take because they lost. This is who they are.

What does upset me is that Sid didn’t do the jagr salute on his goal.

Not many teams can manage to get a PP late in a tie game and give up a shorty to lose in regulation. The Pens have done it how many times this season now?

The Pens PP easily cost them 8 games this year. Probably more. The worst part about this game is the Pens were never the better team. Kings playing b2b on the east coast and the Pens were never the better team. There's no positive spin you can put on that.

It really is absurd. Losers find ways to lose. This season sucks lol.

Somebody should mock up Dubas's face on here:

They don’t really care about winning. Besides the Geno shot in the waning seconds … they were just holding on to the puck and playing a patty cake passing game. Not one player knew how much time was left on the clock, either that or didn’t care about it. What a giant cat turd of a poop show

If Rierdon runs the PP and Sullivan has just let him run it this whole time they both need to be fired.
- Grinder47

If Reirdon is not let go by Sullivan tomorrow morning, Dubas should be firing both by dinner time.

Should have been fired in Nov… owners don’t care, GM doesn’t care, coaches don’t care, and players play like no one cares (except Sid). Pathetic.

Kings fourth game in six nights.

Pens currently hold the tenth pick. I give it to San Jose. They'll get a top five pick in '25.

I think this was a test season for FSG and Dubas. Does this group of players have the drive to make a push for a cup run. Answer: clearly not.

Only question is if they are going to do a major shakeup and try to compete next season or go full rebuild. I think you trade Jake, Smith and Rackell at the deadline.

This might sound crazy, but I think they should try to capitalize on the deadline needs for starting goalies and trade Jarry at a very high value. NJ, Toronto and Carolina all have cup contender rosters less a true #1 goalie. Get a haul for him, bring back Fleury and a second 1b goalie to ride with.

Trade anyone outside the big 3 and maybe Pettersson. Listen to trades on everyone else

I agree with you on Pettersson. Have to admit, I was ready to give up on him a couple years back but with his contract, I can't imagine finding a trade for him that I like.

Malkin is the big question mark for me. I think it would take a big package to move on from him but I do wonder sometimes if he just needs a change of scenery. As he is getting older and slowing down, would he prefer less day to day pressure? He might like being on a Panthers or Avs team where they already have their stars and he can just do his thing. He is still a strong value at $6M per year, so I think someone would have to blow your socks off to consider it but who knows.

Been that way for yrs…trade anyone but 87.

You can hang on to them till they retire but it will make a rebuild that much harder and longer.

I want Letang here until the bitter end, even if we are rebuilding. He is a guy you want your young guys learning how to be a pro from. Been through a ton of adversity, still a top pair D man. Same reason I really want Fleury back.

I was at the game tonight and I have two main thoughts:

1) Everything about Jagr tonight was perfect and 100% deserved. Shame it didnt happen earlier when his father was still alive. Everything from the videos to Jagr taking warmups was awesome.

2) This team stinks. It isnt a bad team, it just stinks. This is the worst bottom 6 we've had in many years and unlike past years, our top 6 isnt good enough to bail them out.

To me, if you arent going to trade Jake, and I truly think you need to if he doesnt sign a contract between now and the deadline, you at minimum need to free up money for next season and give Dubas a chance to retool this team next season. I am not "rebuilding" until our big 3 retire. Then you tear it down and do it the right way.

Nah this team is done. I agree with 123 except I would also trade Petts. He would prob net a nice return. I don’t see what keeping he would yield us. I don’t think Geno would honestly get us that much of a haul. Sid and Letang need to lead the next generation, if willing too anyways. Their dedication to the game and taking care of themselves.

You trade everyone but 87..... 87 leaves in a year when his contact is up. So you need to trade him too if you go down that route.

Not saying I would do this, I wouldn't, but you don't get to have your cake and eat it too here. Sid isn't staying if they tear it down.

Petterson is one of the obvious good return guys you have. If you are tearing it down, I agree, you add him.

Agree with you on all other points too. Malkin doesn't net much even if he waives. Same with EK, Letang, Rust, Rackell. Too much term.

It's Jake, Sid, and Petterson who have value. Maybe Smith, Ned, or Eller gets a little.
