This team is an embarrassment.

At what point can we say Monty has some culpability here. I don't give a crap what his record with the team is - most of that success came with Kreicji and Bergeron playing. Those two are no longer with the team so Monty needs to adjust to life without them.

I think back to who they could have hired after Cassidy. Not sure any other coach is leading this team to 2nd in the league post all star break this year. I could be wrong, but Monty is the right coach for this team right now.

Having said that are there some mistakes and gaps in his coaching. Yes. 100%. It needs to be addressed. I'm seeing very disjointed special teams. I think after this year we need to say goodbye to the assistant coaches that were here under Cassidy. Need a change of pace and not the same old stuff that they have been trying during the bergeron era.

I think this team is finally showing what they are, a very good but not great team. Too much talent has left since last season and not been equally replaced obviously due to salary cap issues from going all in several seasons in a row (which was the right call).

Their passing is lazy and slow and easily blocked/stolen particularly on the PP. That being said, not crazy about some personnel moves with the players we do have. Why was Lohrei sent down? If McAvoy is a true #1 then Lohrei should playing with him just like Chara did with every hot-shot incoming rookie d-man (Hamilton, McAvoy, etc.) Let them "learn from the best" from a guy that can cover some of their growing pains mistakes. McAvoy is getting paid to be that guy and should earn it. Why was Beecher sent down? Sad state of affairs but one of our best face-off guys and big and quick. Sure, it would be nice to have more offensive production from him but it's not like any of the "replacements" are producing more.

Oh and on Monty, there was a brief interview recently with Marchy who was asked about a new linemate (can't recall who) and he mentioned about not yet building chemistry with who he is playing with. Think that was a subtle dig. I'm tired of the guys not being able to gell due to Monty's just about blender approach to even starting lineups. It's one thing to do in-game adjustments but his approach is maddening.

In-game adjustments are of course necessary.
But the flipping around of lines game-to-game-to-game makes no sense.

No, the point I was making is that just because someone is accused (and even charged in both cases) doesn't mean the accused actually did the crime/offense. I might add that the 911 operator has said the caller sounded intoxicated in the Lucic case. Again, there are only two people that actually know what happened.
