If Canucks do add Kessel lines could go something like

Kessel Miller Boeser
Hoglander Lindholm Pettersson
Joshua Blueger Garland
Lafferty Suter Mikheyev

Dzone starts Suter can replace Kessel.

- manvanfan

That was my thoughts as well.
Or put him on the 4th line for Suter.
pretty solid/deep lineup…if kessel works out.

That's basically what I said
- NorthNuck

At 35 last year he had 36 in 82 playing on every single line in Vegas. Suter's career high is 36 in 82.

2 off-seasons ago, the Canucks signed, at that time, a 3rd line winger, to a 4.75 million per, who had a career year with 21 goals and 32 points.
The Canucks now have a much better 3rd line player coming up for a contract, which is about the same age as when that signing occurred.
Joshua is going to get paid.

It's the experience factor, even though he only played 4 games for Vegas in the playoffs last year. I thought Karlsson has held his own, seemed to be getting better with games played.

Do you think Rutherford makes that mistake again after the similar one he made in Pittsburgh?

The Mikheyev buyout cost

https://www.capfriendly.c...-calculator/ilya-mikheyev

Also, Tocchet calls it the Garland line, so there it is.

He made the same mistake when signing Mikheyev. Personally I would think around 3 million, but his agent has a pretty good argument, with a couple examples on the Canucks, Garland and Mikheyev, as well as former Canucks Beauvillier and Dickinson.

Yeah, not sure why he took a shot at the Canucks. They are a really good team right now. Watching the game last night reminded me of the mid-'10s Hawks. Fast, skilled, heavy when needed but not egregious, solid goalie, good forecheck. I hope they do well as they are exciting to watch. Quinn is a monster.

The Hawks have a ton of young talent that will filter in over the next three years. Any Hawks success will greatly depend on how those players pan out. They've concentrated on good/fast skaters, high compete, and work ethic. Sounds great in theory, but it needs to be shown on ice.

- Chunk

Don't get me wrong the Hawks will get there just gonna take time.

I don't doubt that Joshua should get more money but Mikky was when he signed a career .49 ppg player and right now Joshua is a .33 player.

I look at Luostarinen from Florida signed the 3x3 extension with one year remaining.
https://www.capfriendly.c.../players/eetu-luostarinen
Very similar two year stats to Joshua but this year not having a very good year and his 3x3 hasn't kicked in yet.

Or Tanner Jeannot https://www.capfriendly.com/players/tanner-jeannot
Not having a very good season for 2.65M for 2 year deal.

There are others like Frank Vatrano back then signed Florida or Trent Frederic in Boston his 2 year bridge for around similar amount.

Most of them were 25-26 and Joshua will be 28.

Edit: if Joshua had 3 previous selke vote seasons I could see him getting a 3x3.1 like Marcus Foligno did but he hasn't although he might this year and Joshua will have 200 games not 585.

Did you just take that from comments section at CA?

Also, if anything, it is the Blue line, even though Garland stirs the drink for that line.

- Reubenkincade

I call it the 3rd line.

This may be the pinnacle of optimism for Kessel if he works out.
I think if Kessel gets the clearance RT will ease him in on the 4th line.

Maybe Suter/Mikheyev switching on JTM line. While Kessel wings it with Lafferty on 4th line. Possibly made stronger with Suter centering for secondary scoring.

He has proven to be very effective as a solid 3rd liner. Do you think he gets Garland money, or Mikheyev money?
- Reubenkincade

I think the third line has been outplaying the second line for at least the last 10 games consistently. They may be the best third line in hockey. So as much as you don't like Garlands salary he is worth it. Not for points production but for everything. He causes sh1t, causes penalties, controls the play, and much more.

As far as Mikheyev like I have said his issue is salary. He is nt hurting the team but with the extra money you can improve the team. He will be on LTIR soon with a hand problem of some sore or part of a trade. I would not worry too much about him.

You should be able to re-sign Lindholm Zadorov Blueger Dakota because of players like Juulsen Hoglander and moving out Kuz Mik and Myers.

Pettersson sure has cooled off quite a bit. 12.5 mil?

I have not been overly impressed TBH. I know he is a very good player but I don't like the turnovers and I think he gets easily removed off the puck. He goes down a lot.

I will wait for the backlash from everyone to point out game winners, 100 pts yada yada yada.

I think he can chase the money and get 4+milX4 on the open market

But if he realizes that signing in Vancouver at a little bit of a discount could lead to more success then it would be ideal to 3-3.5X4

I'd like to resign him, Bluegar, Cole and maybe Zadorov - IF the prices are right/accurate. Lean on some kids/ELC's next year like Pods, Bains, Raty,

Yeah a players market goes a long way with past performances over time. Though I do think all the players up for new contracts with the Canucks will get consideration after the playoffs.

Canucks will get a better measure of what fits them to allocate cap. It all starts with Petey and Hronek then goes from there on down.

Joshua is making a good case to be next on the list. Bluegar and Zadorov are also vying for that priority consideration. Really believe the playoffs will determine it all.

Who's on 2nd line?

Also if you look at stats anywhere Garland and Mikheyev are very similar in a lot of ways across the board.

The backlash is for the idiot who whines in 72 posts during one thread in a month where Petey is one of the 3 stars of the NHL. No need to play the victim Vantel...

Nor did I think you did either as we know he would not get any PK and only PP2 time. So at best on a JTM line 15 at most. That’s the most optimistic scenario. No one even you is betting on that.

I suggest you put down the pencil and actually watch the game. It is beyond crazy and not even debatable to think Garland and Mikeyhev are having the same effect on the Canucks.

You're not alone. He looks like he doesn't want to be there at times by the lack of effort and lazy mistakes.

That should take some heat off you.
