He’s like a dog with a bone & luvs his scorekeeping shtick. I read the rude remarks then after a few I humour him & play pitch & catch. This blog is nothing without 10 pages or going into days. Just doing my part in making sure the drama quotient stays at a high level. lol

I haven't heard one person suggest Petey at 8.7 mil (which by the way is what Crosby gets). I guess his agent should be fired according to QQ.
- VANTEL

Crosby signed his contract ten years ago lol, the cap was $64,300,000 for the 2013/14 season, the first year of his current contract, so his 8.7 million was roughly 13.5% of the cap.

Pettersson is going to be in that 11-12 million a season range, which is in that same percentage range, as he should be. Regardless of who he plays for. I’d love if he signed for less with the Canucks though.

A couple of teams are crippling their future and the Leafs are one of them. Paying stupid money. Like the old question if Billy jumps off of a bridge does it mean you have to also.

I think Canucks have a forget about it number , you seem to think it is a blank check. Let's wait and find out.

Oh some context & reality. 👍

I mean, if he dared you, then yea.

I mean honestly, I can not think of one other GM that would be at a team meeting and suggest to use the Leafs template of how to build and structure the cap.

Ok that’s reasonable 👍

How about some real banter? Who would you like to trade for or not or go with the current roster?

Well. I don’t think any GM would suggest copying another teams homework.
No other team has the same roster or picks.

But yeah. TML suck no doubt.

That’s 12.5-13.5% range. Sounds like the going rate but of course I ignore that & I too love less.

I feel like I’ve already stated that today and would rather not repeat myself (at least not on the same day).

Time to watch the kids final midget hockey game from the tournament in lovely pt alberni.

Going for Bronze.

No other team is remotely close to the Leafs cap structure. Even cup winners didn’t pay forward they paid after results. Every team & GM face their own situations & circumstances & in PA he’s no dummy going on what he’s done to date.

Some heat beginning between David Jiricek and the team. The sat him out saying they didn't think he was good enough last game. His response was "That's your opinion".

Doesn't want to report to AHL as per Aaron Portzline

He did report too Cleveland and said this. “The guys here in Cleveland are awesome. The coaches are awesome. It’s fun to be here now, because there’s a lot of winning. There’s a good energy. But still … this is not what I want, right?”

Are you suggesting the Canucks cap situation is current similar to the Leafs? Because it's nothing like it. Canucks highest paid player is Miller at 8 million dollars, the Leafs lowest highly paid player makes 2.9 million a year more than that.

If anything, with Pettersson at say 11.5 million (assuming), Miller at 8 million, Hughes at 7.85 million, Boeser at 6.6 million and Demko at 5 million the Canucks are very much set up like the Penguins when they won the Cup in 2016 and 2017 with the salary cap at 71.3 million and 73 million back then. When you consider percentages of five highest paid players against the cap.

Malkin was making 9.5 million, Crosby 8.7 million, Letang 7.25 million, Kessel 6.8 million and Fleury 5.75 million.

Percentages...

Malkin 13%, Crosby 12%, Letang 10%, Kessel 9.3%, Fleury 7.9%

Pettersson 13%, Miller 9.2%, Hughes 8.9%, Boeser 7.75%, Demko 5.5%

When Malkin and Crosby were signed they were. Malkin was 14.77 and Crosby was 14.5

The Leafs are paying 14% to matthews on 4 and 5 year deals. Should have been 14.6 on an 8 year deal.

Petey at 11.5m 13% seems a likely fair contract both ways. Prefer long term in that case for when other contracts come due the cap is there & allowing flexibility when or if needed.

I guess you deliberately last night ignored the group of people calling you idiot, mental issues, someone who needs help, desires to never see you again on here and all the other expressions of frustrations. It doesnt fit your narrative of innocents. You just log on the next day and start it all over again.

The list of people's heads you are getting into grows everyday.
