I'm off to Barrett-Jackson and then back home for the 1PM MT Ravens vs Chiefs, that's gonna be a great football game!! I also hope the Lions beat the 49'ers. See y'all...

Any idea when this years picnic is? I would like to sit down with Booner and Nightie and hear their thoughts on what Petey's new contract will look like.

Caught the highlights of the game on your nine min. clip posted on the blog, thanks.

Would it though? The package, that is. You'll have a hard time finding an example of an older guy like Crosby, who's 36 yrs old...turning 37 next August, getting traded for much. It is Crosby though. The Pens are a sinking ship, he might go to them and say I want to go to Vancouver for another shot at a Cup, please make it happen. It's a hard one to judge for me.

It's so hard to judge what a package for him would be like. He's old, but he's still great and a first ballot HOFer... plus he's the face of that franchise. I'm assuming it's a 1st plus a couple prospects (A and B level) at bare minimum.

Thanks Yorks. I'm with dbot. Still trying to wrap my head around that penalty. I didn't think replay was able to make that sort of call.

Other Canuck news. Podkolzin has been hot in Abby this year. Team leading 13 goals. Him and Max Sasson have been putting up points as of late.

His game is coming around very nicely. Great shot, playmaking has improved and he is gaining confidence in his agility.

If he is not traded he will be a bigger version of Hoglander next year. His big issue was confidence and creativity. They seem to be improving game to game.

York Newbury: Canucks rally for OT win over Jackets
- York Newbury

Thank you for a coherent hungover blog, you even had enough where-with-all to post this comment: “ Until then try not to kill each other.”

Pretty damn impressed that team came back after poopting the bed in the second, as soon as the 1st goal against was scored I knew someone would be beaking off non-stop. All the best players gave the puck away, all the best players made up for their mistakes, great team resilience.

So now 10 days without a blog, come on York that will have a few at each other’s throats, look what happened after 3 days without a new blog.

Sit in the middle & ref? Lol

Hinges on the term they hammer out. Any idea in preseason if there was numbers bounced back & forth & if yes what rumoured were they? Asking cuz the last contract talks dragged out & affected Petey’s start to the season. So I’m guessing that is being avoided to focus on this season.

I ask how can they review what they didn’t originally call?

My guess is NHL HQ is interfering cuz of some past injuries incidents. The reactive solution attitude but don’t stop there go further on some missed or bad calls. Get it ALL right. Reffing consistency isn’t good.

Patrik Laine has entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program and will be away from the #CBJ for an indefinite period while receiving treatment.

Third in team scoring (3 tied for second). One point off second. Not much to complain about.

There goes another one. Him & PLD are problem childs. Ironic traded for each other. Similar contracts on perceived worth ending up as cap anchors. The former holds back a team trying to be relevant the latter a headcase for a rival. GCG

I saw that but I was under the assumption he was a C that played a smart bottom 6 kind of role. So he’s adding some offence to his game or just cuz he’s prominent in an AHL league.

He will probably get a contract. He plays with Podz. He has been doing good. I consider them the top line.

Watching the game & the last CBJ game Johnny Hockey has been a total no show. GM’s should be wary the last big contract players sign can blow up in their face.

Ok thx for that. Any chance he could be a depth C call up down the road in your opinion?

Seems like he's turning it around Hope he sticks around, can be an impactful middle six player. I think he'd do really well in Tocchet's system with a unrelenting forecheck.

Always saw him as the 3rd wheel. Like his tool kit just want more consistency when he gets his shot. Pressure the puck relentlessly. Good enough shot & skills to get his points. In the VGK mode everybody works hard in all 3 zones.

I am seeing some of his best hockey this year. Started off hot, injured, slow return, hot again.

That fight he had last night shows me he is taking it all in and learning. First fight he had he got his ass kicked. This one was much better. His shot is a lot better now.

I don't watch enough to make that call. I mostly follow Podz on there only.
