Adams getting the details finished on a 6 year $6 million per for Levi… will fit in perfectly with the other boat anchor contracts he has doled out 😂

If he'd sign for 4mx8, would you do it?

Only contract I have a hard time with is the Samuelsson one. He didnt deserve it and wasnt a sure thing. He had some promise for sure but I think everyone was caught off gaurd there.

The other 4 I have no problems with. Maybe Power as it was a bit early. But I get getting him signed long term.

- DirtyDan

Like many things, each individual contract is fine. The combination is the issue. They are locked in on these guys, without much room to adjust for other players. Mitts ordinarily wouldn't be a that difficult, but now it is.

it's always the other teams goalie having "their best game of the year"

maybe the sabres just suck at shooting

- homiedclown

In that same article you posted about earlier, consider the following comparison to the team they just played
"Dallas is near the top in nearly every defensive metric, so this should be no surprise. Jake Oettinger has been good but not great this season. He has actually saved 3.5 goals below expected, but despite that, he has a save percentage above the league average because the quality of shots he’s faced haven’t been particularly difficult."

Donny "I don't need no stinking Analytics" is coaching this team into shooting from areas that have a league average SV% of .961. what do you think is going to happen when the Shooting % is expected to be 3.9% ????
He doesn't know because he doesn't pay attention to AA. Gee I wonder if when playing against an above average goalie, the strategy to just shoot from the perimeter is a good choice?
Holy cow.

It won't happen, so no worries, but fwiw, I'd be overjoyed. A UPL/Levi tandem for the next decade would be glorious. Unfortunately we're going to wait too long and end up having to trade one.

I don't care if their last name is Hitler...help the team win, play dependable, consistent hockey...win...then lets discuss long term. Adams and some fans are married to players/prospects that have produced 0. It's truly impressive how Terry has accomplished this feat.

These contracts and everything about this team is ass backwards.

F 8 years, they can't even compete for a full 60....what are we doing here?

This article should be read by every Sabres fan...all 5 of them remaining.

To put that into proper Context, a High Danger shot has a average SV% of .806 across the league, while conversely an Low Damager shot has .961.

Allow that to sink in and consider UPL, playing on the 4th worst team is terms of High Danger shot to Low Danger shots allowed. Then add to your consideration the fact that his Avg SV% of .910 against the league average of .904.
It all simply points to the fact that UPL is having a very, very successful season so far with a defensive system (or lack thereof) which allows the opposition to walk right in with point blank shots and shots across the crease with an opposing player wide open in the slot.

This isn't hard guys. UPL has found his NHL game and Granato's thumb up at Advanced Analytics is significantly contributing to his workload being very difficult.
Can we all just retain from the ill-informed "make a stop UPL comments".

Hey Kevy, get some friggin Defensive help you asswipe. Take your head out of your ass and go acquire Chris Tanev to start. Maybe even make a deal (I know, right) for Jiricek.

Then, fire every single one in the Coaching Staff. How much more absolutely Mind Numbing coaching do you need to see?
Idiot!

There's always going to be concerns about his consistency, until he sustains it a bit longer. He played well last season, then fell off a cliff. His best is better this year, but he also threw in a dud. How he finishes this season is significant.

2 years from UFA. Is there any scenario where you don't bridge him? Any world where you have faith in Levi and sell high on UPL? Conversely, any chance you'd move Levi?

I hear ya, have to gamble sometimes in the cap era though.

Outside Peterka, I don't think there's another long term candidate on the roster, so I'm with you mostly.

Are they in the playoffs if they had traded Levi for Hellebuyck and signed Hellebuyck to an extension?

Fair, I'd want to see how he wrapped up the end of the year here myself. Just not so sure it wouldn't be good business if he grows more consistent towards the end here.

He gambled already with the all his core defensemen's contracts. He gambled on depth every season as GM.

I don't want him near the table if gambling's involved.

Edit: I don't want Adams or anyone in the current front office around going forward.

Yup to Bridge
Nope to sell high, not now..it should get better in terms of consistency and general play
Nope to selling Levi

Sell UPL at a high in the future IF Levi starts progressing down a promising path.

Oh, and draft a G in every draft.

Helly would have lesser stats in a current Sabres Uni...how much? Not sure. Probably translates into a fair amount of more wins though to be sure.

Without really dissecting the numbers, I'd lean yes. He's been better than UPL + 9 games of him instead of Levi/Comrie and UPL as backup. It adds up.

You can't expect a solid defensive effort from a team that has defence that are bad defenders and forwards that are very soft. They need some big changes made and some may not like what the best moves would be
Dahlin could bring in some up front talent along with the abundance of small soft forwards

Ok, easier said then done

About 16 home games left , as a season ticket holder you already paid for games in advance.

I sold 6 or 7 of the games….

You’re basically asking for the franchise to move out of Buffalo …

Brilliant

Let Terry move the team himself...he won't because he has balls the size of atoms.

If he did, recruit a new Owner to relocate to a traditional hockey hotbed ... Just need to treat it like it needs to be for success...not like a fantasy (nightmare) team on a water budget.

He legally can't move the team, nor would he ever want to.

Just doing my due diligence to kill this point of conversation.

I can’t believe we’re at the point where you’re advocate for the franchise to move and hope we get an expansion team?

That would be devastating imo

No Guarantee we would get another crack, considering the team would move only if they had few attending fans ……
