Does the owner love apathy, if it means nobody asks nor cares about the team, while there are enough tickets sold for every game from opposing teams fans filling the building, while the home fans fill out some additional seating, to the point the owner can use the Sabres financial losses to offset his other business endeavors?
- kingcong39

It only benefits him if the team is better and more seats are filled and playoff money comes in

I dont buy it

Remember fire lindy chants

The fan base is so apathetic now this tire fire cant even unite us to put pressure on the organization to do something

Season ticket holders will continue to decline and casual game goers will continue to decline though so eventually the sole reason for existence will have to wake up and do something about it

The 2 guys I blame last night:

UPL. - as a casual box score watcher. You see UPL let in 2 goals and that seems okay.

But that 1st goal killed the entire Sabres roster energy and momentum. It died.

2nd guy is Granato. Sabres are coming off a back to back with Vegas last night. He rolled 3 lines the night prior then goes 11 Forwards last night.

Our offense looked dead and lifeless

The inability for Adams and Granato to find a Jost Olofsson (insert player here) line is a killer when you play games back to back

Both are so bad

Im glad the team is so mentally soft they deflate any time something doesn't go their way

UPL made more than a handful of big stops to keep them close, he played well enough to win on any given night but the offense scored 0

Again, this version of UPL has us in the playoffs last year whether you like him or not

No one besides Benson plays the style of hockey needed to win games like last night. Perimeter floaters waiting for a perfect pass is not going to get the job done. Once again, we made one of the worst goalies in the league who 95% of people have never heard of look like Hasek

They have a complete inability to find a dirty goal when they need it. Been a big time problem this year with the regression in scoring

Unwillingness to go to the net or clear the front of your own net, finish checks, battle for every inch of ice and be harder to play against is a direct reflection of the coach

So the team is about 40% into the season, are about 27th in the league when adjusted for games played ... picking just outside the top 5, and playing at 77 pt pace.

Now, what say you as far as a decision to fire, trade, let walk or retain on each of:
Adams
Karmonous
Ventura
Granato
Bales
Ellis
Christy
Wilford

Tage
Tuch
Skinner
Peterka
Cozens
Quinn
Mitts
Benson
Greenway
Girgenson
Okposo
Robinson
Krebs
Jost
Dahlin
Power
Joker
Sammy
E Johnson

Team is now on pace for roughly 33 wins and 75 points.

How do the coach and GM continue to be employed if that ends up being the case?

- kingcong39

If they play at a 110 point pace the rest of the season, they'd have a fair chance of making the playoffs.

Adams
Karmonous
Ventura
Granato. All fired. Don't know
Bales. Don't care just get
Ellis. Experience
Christy
Wilford

Tage - keep
Tuch - keep
Skinner - keep/trade
Peterka - keep
Cozens - keep
Quinn - keep/trade bait
Mitts - keep if cheap otherwise trade high
Benson - keep
Greenway - needs to be on 4th line
Girgenson - gone
Okposo - gone
Robinson - sure whatever 4th liner/13th
Krebs - trade if there is any value
Jost - gone
Dahlin - keep
Power - keep
Joker - trade or gone
Sammy - trade bait
E Johnson - gone
R Johnson - keep
Cliffy - trade if you can or buyout
Bryson - gone
Comri - gone
UPL - keep if his play continues all season
Levi - keep

Savoie
Ostund
Kulich. All trade bait if its right
Rosen
Novikov

Although I would keep most of our forward core, I assume 1 probably moves in a hockey trade/for money purposes. Its a pickem to me besides tage cozens dahlin and power. Otherwise I'm using non roster assets to land upgrades for the top 9 and other 4 dmen

I want them to make moves that force players down the depth chart

No one is safe, everything has a price.

New management should implement their own identity, and make deals that maximize that.

We hold the record for missed playoffs including this year will be 13 years.

Adams is 30% of that and still has a job.

Let that sink in.

- New coaching staff that doesn’t neuter the existing talent on the team.

- If it’s not UPL, someone else to split with Levi moving forward

- Top 4 d-man.

Other than that, I think with Kulich/Rosen/Savoie on its way I think we are ready to cook.

Wow! A lot to do lon. Thinking just bringing in better Coaches could really help. Player wise they have the talent, doesn't seem they have the Heart. Either gotta bring some of that in and hope it bleeds off on these players or shake that core up and wake them up.

How much can a coach change a group of career perimeter, rely on skill players?

What system fixes that?

How long does it take for these type of players to learn?
