Ristolainen said he wishes he had Tortorella as his head coach when he was 18. Feels like his game has taken big strides under him, particularly in terms of killing plays and d zone work.

Well isn't that a surprise, bringing in the right Coaches or Veteran players to help your young prospects develop and grow. Sabres are not good with this, Risto and they did it with Dahlin and know there doing it with Power. Dahlin found his way, hopefully Power does.

Would Dakota Joshua be a fit here, don't know if he's available. But would bring a needed edge with a little touch. They need a bigger fish with a Nasty side who can play, hard to come by. Joshua isn't that but he definitely brings things this team needs.

23 is terrible I can’t stand him
- SABRES 89

GMKA thought he was a few steps ahead of the market when he signed MS23 to his $4.5 million contract…. We are all finding out he is nothing more than a 3rd pairing plug who will land on the IR a few times a year and provide absolutely nothing. Could have easily given him a bridge deal at half the salary and make him prove himself. Another massive mistake by our clueless front office

Could it be the echl coaching?

Or

lack of an additional top 4 d man brought in to push him down the lineup?

Or

Just pegs having nothing but yes men and inexperience running the show

Adams:

- traded Murray's core
- signed Bott's core
- made a 5 year plan after his first attempt to win resulted in a last place finish.
- made Murray's failed signings, and Bott's failed support players the leaders of his rebuild
- has yet to add external value to the organization

The biggest fumble that doesn't get talked about is he 100% could have traded Eichel for Mathew Tkachuk and maybe even more and instead he chased Krebs.

He has overpaid everyone, and created a complacent environment founded from fear. What comes first, players requesting trades or Adams making adjustments to his plan?

I’d like to reference the post at the top of this page. Let’s get these players some real coaches with experience and see if the kids can learn and grow into anything resembling a top nhl team

Of corse the team president is happy with what he sees with all his vast hockey knowledge

I thought the scuttlebutt was Tkachuk had no interest in coming to Buffalo and would not sign an extension there?

The most damning stat of all...?

It indicates a permeating team fragility, and a lack of resolve throughout the team.

>>> They're 1-12-1 when trailing at the end of the second period.

Sabres died after that

That's a real good reason for a pro hockey team to collapse. Get rid of them, the coach and the GM and bring in some pros

That sums it up nicely. I’d throw n his inability to see this is the wrong coach/system for this squad

The Plan. Yes there is a plan. Lose for 20 plus years, draft high end cream puffs, then make the playoffs a few years in a row getting tossed in the first round. Should only be a short 7 or 8 years till Okposo can lead his youngins to the promised playoff fail

Why hasn't the coach been fired yet? Winning two in a row just one time in 32 games in any non tank season is grounds for dismissal

Can't make that big mistake but blaming UPL when the team scores 0 is hilariously stupid.
They make the playoffs with this version of him last year

Its not even Christmas and this season is cooked. Great job sabres

Other than Tuch, I have never heard a player say they were excited about being traded to Buffalo, Adams is the only GM that allows that to not make any attempt to improve the team.

Not trying has resulted in what we are witnessing, if he doesn't resign, then you trade him. He would still be a top 5 desired player at that time.

This season has deflated any hype, and brings the question of if this group is the right group to build off of....again.

Adams not making tough decisions will again, led fans to the exits and push the Sabres further into complete irrelevancy.

Remember fire lindy chants

The fan base is so apathetic now this tire fire cant even unite us to put pressure on the organization to do something

Season ticket holders will continue to decline and casual game goers will continue to decline though so eventually the sole reason for existence will have to wake up and do something about it

Does the owner love apathy, if it means nobody asks nor cares about the team, while there are enough tickets sold for every game from opposing teams fans filling the building, while the home fans fill out some additional seating, to the point the owner can use the Sabres financial losses to offset his other business endeavors?

To your point, the pending free agency of Huberdeau and Weegar didn't stop him from taking those players back for Tkachuk.

What he decided to do after that is a big problem, but not accepting those players back in the deal.
