Being willing to play younger and faster players like Holmstrom and Gauthier has been a help. I like this about Lane. I thought sitting Pierre was a great move and message to him and the rest of the team.

I did however, like the fact that Mayfield stepped in for Horvat against Englund. And I like both stepping on the Barzal hit, even though it was a clean hit on Barzal.

I don’t want them to bottom out either. That’s the main reason I wanted Lane’s head. I just didn’t feel the team was playing the right way and lost their confidence and identity.
Now the last couple especially the last game showed me some of the character I love about this group.
I guess Kudos to Lou for having patience and not firing Lane. However time will tell.
