Well I will say this, they have the talent to compete. They have played really well against some good teams and beat them. IMO Adams needs to learn how to finish a roster, Sabres need a couple Decent Glue player's and 1 more Dman. And atleast 1 of those glue guys needs to be able to answer back when Benson, JJ and such get a rough ride or a Face Wash. Doesn't need to be right then, but it needs to be known, this sh!t ain't happening anymore. Hathaway would have been the perfect signing, plus he can still play a bit.

Sure, at this point the addition by subtraction plan should be in affect. The removal of the old useless Larry's might be enough to improve the team.

I would rather see this group share the captaincy every month over continuing to adore a mummy that a billionaire controls via xbox controller.

There are juxtapositions between this and the titanic submarine incident. Was this intentional? 5 stars if so.

Well let's see where Krebs ends up by the end of this season as far as salvaging his career.

Seems misrepresented. Most wanted a trade and some weren't completely oppossed to including him.

Everyone can't be core.

- Lunaion

Not to many untouchables for the right price, but would have had to have been a Very Shinny piece to include him.

I think we need another power forward, Tuch 2.0. Buchnevich? Lindholm? Crouse? Grab an actual top4 RHD and trade away Clifton and let EJ walk. Andersson or Durzi would be perfect, but there's options. Personally, I'm all for adding a bunch to Mitts to take a shot at a 1LW too. I think he's too well liked and will resign, but those are the big adds. From there, we need a better Robinson. Need a true hitter that has elite PK numbers, so we can take Tage off that rotation. I don't want Tage blocking PP one timers ever again.

I have lost most faith in Adams, but there's still room to surprise. I would imagine this offseason is his last if he stays the course. HBU? Who would be a "great" add this offseason or TDL?

- QuinnFan

I don't have enough time (I do but it's Friday) to answer this thoughtfully.

I really like the idea of Blake Coleman at a retained cost.

Watching the top 6 so far this year, have some real concern about overpaying to lock them all up.

Sure seems to extending Mitts is his move. Imagine we're looking at another nothing summer. I'd say add a grinder or two, but now he'll just pretend Robinson is the best option.

He wouldn't move anyone, so you get Clifton.

The bright spot there is that if that's the path Adams chooses, this will be his last year as GM and likely Donny's last year as a coach. And I think a good coach/GM combo would get infinitely more from this lineup and add to it to help that along.

I think you've mentioned him before, liked him on Jersey just don't follow CAL too much. Too late start times for my old brain.

Seems like a middle 6er that could go up or down the lineup based on injuries, so can't argue with that.

So, rating a player like Krebs to me is a bit of challenge, based on what his purpose is. Sometimes he's a low scoring line player, sometimes he's a checking line player. So reading into his numbers is difficult.

Stat I'm going to choose to use is xGF/60, relative. So, regardless of the team's overall performance, this stat will look at his impact on quality shots for/against.

The Okposo leadership era coming to an end is the biggest improvement that I can realistically hope for from Adams.

Players I would target in UFA:

-Stamkos
-Skunk

The needed dmen and goalie will have to come through trades, which I don't have the faith in Adams to spend to get.

There's only 1 unavoidable obstacle in that plan:

He checks a lot of boxes that this team is in short supply of.

Quality veteran
Cup winner
Bottom 9, hard to play against
Physical
Consistent defensive competency
Can actually chip in on the offense
Creates a lot of space for more talented forwards
Utility
Several years of contract remaining

The way the Flyers are playing and the positive culture change that’s occurring… I don’t think the Flyers are subtracting + players from their lineup. Jones and Briere have done great work thus far and that team is very difficult to play against. Jones-Briere- Torts seems to be working very well together
