Buffalo owned Detroit last season. So I'm hoping Detroit will reverse that trend this year. Wings have had 50% roster turnover from last season so this isn't last year's Red Wings (thank goodness). Yzerman has righted the ship and the Wings are finally starting to turn the corner. We'll see if they can make the playoffs.

Buffalo is stacked with talent (six first round picks on your roster if I remember correctly). I am surprised they are not doing better. Everyone had Ottawa and Buffalo as better than Detroit this season. Yzerman has done an admirable job cleaning up the dumpster fire mess Ken Holland left in Detroit.

Evidence of inflated value due to quantity of draft position. It's an irrelevant and more importantly wrong way to value players/teams.

I was really pissed when Yzerman didn't select Cozens in the draft because we needed centers badly. Instead he chose Moritz Seider... A lot of Wings fans were like WTF ??
"who the heck is Seider" ??? Whelp... the rest is history as they say. I still think Cozens will have a great career. Wings at least have Danielson (center) as a really good prospect... they're going to need him.
