There is word today the Nashville Predators have given Tyson Barrie permission to talk to other teams. Barrie is expected to be a scratch vs the Rangers and is a UFA after this season. This allows team and player to see if there is a better fit elsewhere

Dahlin and Samuelsson’s numbers both improve when they are not playing with one another.

E Johnson has been quite arguably the worst d-man in the league this season.

Ryan Johnson is probably one of your top 4 d-men today.

None of it makes sense, and it doesn’t take a Sam Ventura to figure that out. Just a $5 subscription to Natural Statstrick or Evolving Hockey.

I’d love to see the private data that our analytics department does have which I’m sure is 10x more advanced in comparison to what is available publicly

Is probably more realistic

Last season league average was 258

I would think those numbers with that top 9 in a couple years is reasonable...to me anyway.

Seems about right. I know it's not a fun way to look at it. You want to see players grow. If the team is only going to score so many, then it's just about distribution, which is kind of boring.

Leafs and Lightning are both vulnerable but they have been able to get games to the 4th period where the Sabres have not been able to.

Those loser points add up, and in the Leafs case stacking wins in OT and Shootout have been bailing them out

Detroit has faltered since their hot start and are about to play Kane in their top 6 which I’m sure isn’t going to help.

Washington off to a hot start but their underlyings suggest a regression is coming there unless Lindgren keeps playing like a top 5 goalie in the league.

You have to think the Devils figure it out but Vaneck/Schmid can’t stop a beachball right now.

Philly is actually playing very good hockey, must be nice to have a coaching staff that gets the most out of a roster that was built to tank this year. Have to think at some point their reality sets in but who knows.

Ottawa is Ottawa. Los Angelas Chargers of the NHL. For some reason they continue to stink despite having some high end talent on the roster. Once again though, Korpisalo and Forsberg can’t stop a beachball right now and DJ Smith can’t coach his way out of a paper bag.

The wildcard spots are there for the taking whenever the Sabres want to play with more consistency and stop shooting themsleves in the foot with suboptimal lineup decisions.

In KA year 1, people gave him a pass because Ralph had his fingerprints on everything. Not sure things ever changed. Feels like Donnie runs the show. All the trades + UFA's are his guys.

Sam only seems to influence the draft.

I still think the Leafs are a playoff lock but there is blood in the water.

The transition from Dubas to Trevling has been rough.

But hey their coach banished Klingberg to robidas island, sits Reaves, put a player who hurts you in Domi in the best possible situation to succeed, and is rolling Woll over Samsonov who came down to Earth after his big year last year.
