Yes, the handling of our goalies has been, shall we say, questionable.
- Frizzlefry

Agreed. We need a little stability, I'm really starting to sour on Donny. Sucks too, been his biggest fan until this season.

Is this a good enough forward unit to make the playoffs?

- QuinnFan

Definitely be a push the pace Offense and you better have the Defense who can skate with them.

Yes, it could make the playoffs...in 2/3 years at the earliest. I don't think it beats any team 4 out of 7 though.

This lineup is similar to the Toronto lineup, reliant on talent vs hard work.

I would think so, yet it may turn out a tweek is required.

Key to me is also the D.
If RyJo maintains/grows his game he is a Top 4 on a cheap contract, invest in another top 4 and push Sammy Joker down until others on ELC's can push them out.

And get a damn coach that can implement a strong 5 man, 200 foot system.

These same people didn't want Ullmark or Reinhart.

Look at them now. Begging for Reinhart to come back and to have a goalie half as capable as Linus is.

TBF I think some of those guys are hard workers - who would you say are the least hard working of that bunch?

Well said as usual Ion. Really like the bold. Forward group can work if we can enhance the defense and actually build a structured approach.

Savoie and the UFA are the only names that we don't know how they will play for the Sabres. The rest are on the team that is inconsistent and according to their GM, relies on their talent too much.

Benson is the hardest worker in that group.

What's the missing ingredient to the forward lines? We'd certainly still have the chips necessary to buy anything short of McJesus.

I’d use different line combinations but yes it absolutely is.

FIFY

Leadership, accountability, determination, discipline, commitment to the 200' game, consistency, passion, grit, fighting skills, net front presence, cohesion, right players accepting and embracing their roles, etc.

Decmeber 1st and I feel the same way I did 4 months ago.

This is a playoff roster with coaching that is dragging the team town.

Could Adams do more and should he have done more ? 100%

This roster as is though is underperforming and even without any further additions and just getting healthy is a roster that is more than talented enough to make the playoffs.

This is a genuine question, has this roster ever held a playoff spot for more than a week, if at all?

I agree Benson seems to be the hardest worker. I wonder how much of that is him trying to prove himself and if he can keep it up or if he falls into the lackadaisical tendencies of the leadership group above him.

I'd say
Benson
Mitts Tuch
Cozens Peterka Quinn Tage
Krebs Greenway Okposo Girgs

Skinner

In terms of all around hard work tiers.

Consistency and cohesion should grow with experience. Can't really knock the rest. If this is the case though, how many guys do you need to swap out? I mean no one we have can fight or really has known leadership qualities (beyond junior/minor leagues). Do you think it's 1-2 players being swapped out or you're hoping for a larger, sweeping change?

I'm torn, I like the names in the top9 but the lineup does leave a lot to be desired in the defensive category. Not a lot of snarl either, might get pushed around a bit. Is that valid or think it falls on the defense to carry that side of the load?

Still think this Team needs a Crouse type and someone who can Throwdown when the time is needed. Greenway really doesn't scare anyone. Hathaway would have been a good fit.

There's plenty to complain about, but top 6 C's? I don't get that.
- Lunaion

Not one of our rostered centers actually know how to play the position. We need some real ones
