What's the Cap Hit ?
- Buff36

$82mm per not including signing and performance bonuses.

Don’t even get me started on the ticket sales plan they have to announce it.

He was on the low end of that last year.

They were terrified of Eichel's surgery, but are going to walk right into the risks of this one? It's track record isn't encouraging.

The fit on this team is also just terrible.

57 in 73 games last year, most of the time on a tanking team with a hip injury. Still a PPG in the playoffs. Is 57 considered low end there?

92 points the season before that. What’s that considered?

I think Okposo and how horrifically awful he is as a hockey player who is exponentially declining every game is skewing Sabres fans opinions.

Again, devil's advocate only here,

IF (key word) he can come back at 65% of his pre-"injury" status, say 60 pts for 2 years...is that so bad really? Even 45 pts on L3?

IDK. There is another side to the coin.
That's it.

The key is accurately projecting his production based on recovery status..that I do NOT feel comfortable with.

I think he signs $5mm on a 1 year, $4mm per on a 2 year deal. Worst case Ontario, it forces Adams to not resign Okposo next year.

I have a feeling that Housely is one of those guys who is a solid assistant coach… maybe help run a power play, help the defense (although he lacks that skill set) Phil just never struck me as a leader. Everything I ever read and knew about him as a player was he was a solid guy, good teammate, but always had his willingness and desire questioned. A good follower, not a leader

Low end for someone who would walk into Top 6 + PP1, yes.

Not sure what Okposo has to do with anything. Just because they are basically the same age?

Where does he fit and with who ? How long does it take to find out and does it mess up line Combos. Does it negatively effect the Sabres this year and a hopeful playoff run until that is figured out.

Hard to say. He could easily give it all up at the other end of the ice.

Blocking 5 1st round draft picks is the completely inexplicable part.

Look at the roster.

Do you think Kane makes the Sabres power play worse?

Yes, regarding the age.

The current plan for the Sabres roster is to rotate rookies on and off IR until world juniors.

Kane is not a rookie, he fits the style the teams plays, and excels with talent:

- Hossa
- Richards
- Panarin
- Debrincat

He would thrive with a lot of the players on the roster.

The Sabres power play desperately needs a QB, he will fit in there right away. Imagine Kane to Tage to wake up the one timer?

Coming off that surgey at his age should be a missive concern.

Yes right now, but Kane won't be ready for atleast another month. So situation will be a bit different if Kane was brought in then.

Benson and Savoie won't be here, they will be at World's and Quinn could be back.

Healthy internal competition, Quinn is a sophomore coming off major injury, plenty of questions there as well.

He scored 57 points last year. 65% of that is 37.05.

Ya, that is where I am at as well.
I don't anticipate anyone posting 60+/- year 1 and probably not year 2 either though.

I enjoy watching the team formation part though, so it is fun to me to see the team come together and watch individual player growth. I am biased towards young players.
