Many 9nhere are wetting their shorts (or catch rags) for Mitts to post 55 again and sign him at $7m per over the long term.
It doesn't reconcile in my head

Joking aside, the Sabres weak spots right now are offense and veteran leadership. If the 1 or 2 year deals rumored to be offered are true, Kane would have the highest upside of any FA the Sabres have signed that I can remember.

There is a match, and IMO more positives than negatives to bringing him in.

He was on the low end of that last year.

They were terrified of Eichel's surgery, but are going to walk right into the risks of this one? It's track record isn't encouraging.

The fit on this team is also just terrible.
