If you base the idea behind this roster with development as the priority, Krebs was the prized return in the most significant trade made in the NHL in over a decade.

He is playing with the front office’s choice for defensive reliability and leadership. He is young which could lead you to believe the potential has not been reached yet. He is getting the opportunity to grow with patience from management to allow it.

IMO, if you think Adams built this roster to provide the best chance to win, then there should be concern, not only with the draft picks because the NHL roster has many positions that require improvement. None of them could break through, except for the latest 1st round pick who jumped all of the prospects in the NHL’s #1 ranked prospect system.

However,

If development is the priority, it makes sense to keep the prospects together in the AHL for as long as possible to grow chemistry and establish roles within the organization. This justifies resigning the 1 year contract group as placeholders while the organization still learns what it has.

With Meatball saying he plans to use 35 guys for the season during training camp, along with Adams using this time to learn how to manipulate IR/roster transactions…it would point more towards development.

So I missed the game, looks like Ryan Johnson fit right in with almost 20min in ice time. Was he solid, and did he play with Dahlin the whole night ?

The only way they should bend on this lineup would be if there is legitimate talent from a vet to move into it. Give the "C" to Tuch and move on. KA can stop wasting money on his buddies after the games and have them all wine and dine with him during the games in the GM suite

Could be million dollar legs and a two bit brain. Probably very hard to play with someone who skates lots but accomplishes nothing

He was fantastic last night.

Biggest positive was seeing how much he attacked the puck in the neutral zone, coming into the Sabres zone.

He was aggressive at closing the gap and pressuring the puck carrier before they even entered the zone.

He was fantastic last night.

The big question, injuries aside, is if they will sit one of Clifton or E. Johnson to play Ryan Johnson.

I wouldn't sit or move Jokiharju, with how he is playing, even if much of his good play is due to Power's excellence.

I'd also trade Jokiharju this offseason to try and sell high on him, and look for an even better partner for Power.
