Preparing to play 82 for a 35 year old is a humorous statement.

It takes longer to get up to speed with every year that goes by, especially with the pace of the league now compared to 15 years ago.

I'd rather have a rested Kyle for 65 to 70 then to try and push it for 82.

Much easier to get bumps, bruises and minor injuries at 35, and it takes longer to overcome them too.

You have to work even harder at that age just to maintain your level of performance as a player.

Improving is out the window.

I'd suggest giving a read to an article from a week or two ago where the writer traveled to Montreal to do a day of off season training with Kris Letang at his gym.

The entire coaching staff is the same. The head coach says the team now believes they can win.

Yet the believers are not concerned with the poor pre season performance and need until mid-late November to evaluate this team.

What advantage was gained if you need to burn a month of the regular season to learn what you have, when every game matters?

Yes what a great year he had. Now review his stats from when he came to Buffalo and was paid millions to produce. Did the organization get what they paid for? He was a bust that was rewarded with an extra year. I could see KA signing him to a one year league minimum and im pretty confident not one other team would have matched that.

Really, cause they weren't regular season games that makes it alright for Clifton not to give his best and learn a new team amd system. Sorry the Penguins treated there game as a primer to the regular season and Oh well the Sabres didn't have to try cause it was only preseason. Sabres are a young team, effort should not be a problem even for preseason, especially the last couple games when teams are starting to suit up close to there roster.
