Guy is their Captain and led the team to 3 straight SC's.
Before that, he was instrumental in leading the team to become very defensively sound, rather than play wide open and "cheat" the play by neglecting their defensive responsibilities (sound familiar?). That buy in by the team resulted in 2 SC's and a 3rd straight SC appearance.
He is a 1 PPG player in over 1,000 games, and played in 81 games last season at the same 1 PPG pace. Can you tell us how exactly he is slowing down? He did overcome a significant injury, perhaps that is what you are thinking when looking at the stats?

I watch a poop ton of Bolts games being that I'm in the heart of Bolt Country. I can assure you, he is far better than Girgenson and Okposo..at the game of hockey and his leadership.

My post about trading for him, I forgot to say that having a leader of that ilk, rather than leaders who know nothing but losing is on a different level...in fact, I would make a trade contingent on the bolts taking one of those guys back, preferably Can'tSkate28.

So the goalie that couldn’t help UPL last year as a player, is going to help UPL as a coach?

Anderson seems like a good dude, love the vibes being around, but I didn’t see any growth in UPLs game last year and his weakness are carrying into preseason.

Is it coaching? Is it UPL still isn’t confident after surgery? Does he need more time until the switch flips? Or is he simply not good enough and will always play like the littlest big goalie out there?

I agree he definitely needs more time. Another year or 2 in the minors or trade him to a team for picks. KA has no balls to do that

Alex Nylander would be someone to take a chance on and put Okposo on waivers. At least there's a chance with Nylander. Okposo would clear waivers then could lead from the minors.

I agree with all of this. The risk for Buffalo is obviously the age and the contract, but for a team who needs to go all out on offense to make the playoffs, it's a move I would seriously consider.

Of course the cost would matter, I wouldn't want to use Savoie, but I would use Ostlund or Rosen if that got it done. Think he would be a good get, maybe show what winning leadership looks like.
