Given that he may be a third line winger here when it’s all said and done, speaks to the amount of talent we have as an organization and the trajectory we are on.

The next decade of Sabres hockey is going to be a lot of fun.

this is why the blah player like greenway holds back a prospect this year

kulich/benson/savoie/rosen/rousek could take that second line slot from peterka if they earn it for opening night and sliding peterka to the third line

won't happen with greenway penciled in for that third line spot for the next 2 years

This year yes, next year is far away and cross that bridge when you get there.

Greenway also graded as one of the best forecheckers in the league last year and is good at puck retrievals while having good defensive numbers during his time in Minnesota.

As a complimentary player I think he can fit in very well here, and with what Donnie has done for other players in the organization, I think we need to give it some time before we judge it appropriately

The idea that Kulich or Rosen could overtake him this season isn't crazy at all. Fair to say that they both project to be better.
- Lunaion

I don't agree with the above at all.

Both have a ways to go before projecting to be better then Peterka.

Okposo is a good enough hockey player, he had 20 goals the year before last. He's an excellent passer as well.

Lion eater has hands of stone, but still has a spot based on his defensive prowess.

That's what a 4th line kinda looks like in the nhl.

Krebs gives that line hope to score

- Boss34

Yes that's what a 4th line used to look like. If the Sabres want to fit most of their prospects, and with as many young players that are already in the top 6. The Sabres are going to have to go in a different way, some of those quality prospects are going to have to start in the bottom 6 or 3 and work there way up. Sabres will need to roll 4 lines or you need to do some heavy evaluations and get value back for these players before the shine wears off.

yeah that doesn't make sense to me. when their careers are over, it's feasible both are better. But they're not overtaking him for probably another at least 2 years.

Do you think Rosen and Kulich will be a better NHL player than JJ Peterka in under two years?

Hm. I think Kulich and Peterka have comparable careers. Rosen, I'll take my shot, will be better than both. Pretty warm take maybe.

Spicy! Was very happy to see how far Rosen's game has come. Becoming a very good 200ft player.

I think the better questions center around when we can anticipate them becoming better than other Sabres...
-Mitts?
-Krebs?
-Olofsson?
-Jost?
-Girgensons?
-Okposo?
-Greenway?

There is a treasure trove of future considerations we are discussing. Do you have any idea what the excel model shows when you plug that much potential so far away in?

if your roster is the same aside from adding erik johnson and clifton

there was no competition really

when they trot olofsson on the middle 6 and jost and krebs are your 3rd and 4th line centers it's really running the same team and saying screw you to the kids

- homiedclown

There is a chance that happens. I don't think RyJo will remain buried for long and Benson, I think, has a legitimate chance. While there isn't as much competition as we like, if they don't let any of the kids stay up, this is basically going to explode into a full blown battle royal for spots next year.

Glass half full.
