UPL, Benson, RyJo, Kulich, Rosen, Savoie and Biro weren't even thought of last year, so not sure what that means. Most will go back, but the fact there's competition is a good thing, no?
- QuinnFan

UPL was discussed, we were all wondering how he would do with Anderson’s age.

None of those other names are mentioned in the NHL roster competitions named. So how are they relevant to this?

Competition is excellent, the names in the ost originally provided for the NHL team were the topic of uninteresting.

Firstly, because almost all those names will take spots by next year if not sooner. Benson is playing top line, so he's definitely in the conversation. But secondly, because those vets have guys nipping at their tails now. Last year, none of those guys had competition at all, even in theory, so I'm not sure I see the correlation between the two. This is our first year of genuine competition for roster spots. Jost, Olo, Bryson, Stillman...all these guys have their butts pressed to the fire. Good times IMO.

Edit: Sorry didn't mean to sound confrontational there. Reread and sounded Richardish, but I don't have the patience to edit it fully.

Krebs is only 22 years old with a major injury early in his development.
- Boss34

Yes, and unfortunately this isn't 2 years ago when the Sabres had time to evaluate more. Krebs has got 5 or 6 guys knocking on the door.

If Adams/Donnie are smart, they would play
Mitts-Krebs-Benson on L3 together ... it would be an amazing and responsible L3 while also creating production from 3 guys who can find each other ... then, the team would have created tremendous value should they wish to deal either Mitts or Krebs as the next set of prospects comes up in the ensuing years
-or-
Keep the boys together and focus the '24-'25 year on integrating L4 prospects.

Either way, a win in my book

Yeah, there's players (Mitts Krebs) that they need to know if they are part of the future or not. Can't wait for ever on both. You still want to see if you can get value back, wait to long and Krebs is worth Olofsson.

A fire that won’t burn them until next season though.

So they have an entire season to figure it out, to me the competition you’re looking forward to is next year. The competition this year is…..wait for it…………only 1 year.

if your roster is the same aside from adding erik johnson and clifton

there was no competition really

when they trot olofsson on the middle 6 and jost and krebs are your 3rd and 4th line centers it's really running the same team and saying screw you to the kids

Have my 85 4k TV hooked up in the FmRm, 65" in the Flex Rm and 65" on the Lanai...all with Cat6 connectivity to be connected Friday so the stream over 1Gbps should be glorious!

Getting pumped for the season to start! Let's go Sa-bres!!!
