What Acuna Jr is doing with stolen bases this year is remarkable. I went and looked at stolen base record. Some dippoop named Hugh Nichol set the long standing record in 1887 with 138. Probably had 1 chain between bases back then. Rickey has the real record, but what is incredible is you don’t see anyone near the top past the 1980’s. Reyes had a poop ton in 2007. I saw Billy Hamilton had over 100 and was like Holy S, but then saw it was another dip poop from the 1800’s.

Anyhow, is anyone buying into the Bijan hype? How early is too early to take him? I had a draft and took him 4th overall. I’m all in, but we’ll see.

Montour’s numbers will be down this year, if only just because he will be out at the start recovering from shoulder injury. Idk how long he’ll be out to start the season. His shoulder was pretty well whacked by the Vegas series (I think his injury happened vs Carolina).

Still can't believe we had him playing Winger. Pretty bad evaluation and mistake on the Sabres part.

If majority of Sabres nationally televised games are TNT, ABC/ESPN and not hunk of junk ESPN+/Hulu games I’ll be impressed.
- Hatboro_Swords

They have one game on ESPN, one game on ABC and a few on TNT.

Who in the US cares about Ottawa? Better question: who in the US can even identify Ottawa on a map?
- buffalofan19

Buffalo is the 2nd second smallest market in the NFL but the Bills get national games because they're fun to watch. The same is true of Ottawa vs the fun-sucking experience that is NYI hockey

The NHL is upset that Ryan Reynolds wasn't successful in acquiring the team - Bettman and Ryan live in the same building, someone is playing dirty.

I’d love to know what Adams’ plan is for this logjam of forwards who you’d expect to be here in 24-25. All can’t make it
- Skinner

- Tuch
- Cozens
- Peterka
- Quinn
- Mittelstadt (RFA)
- Greenway
- Krebs (RFA)
- Jost (RFA)
- Rousek
- Kulich

The Bills are one of the top teams in the league. Ottawa is not there yet. If the Bills rattle off consecutive years of even 10-win seasons, their national game schedule will diminish significantly.

That might've been the reason he wasn't having a good time that series. I saw how they were dropping the high man to the top of the circle, even lower sometimes to stop cross ice passes, leaving him on an island.

Player eligibility is determined by age. A player is eligible if they are 22 years old or younger as of Sept. 15, 2023. This encompasses almost every prospect selected between the 2019 and 2023 NHL drafts. This is done to include a team’s top prospects without aggressively graduating players who have a lot of prime development years ahead of them, even if they are already in the NHL. This does have the effect of at times including star NHL players while leaving off players who are still in the minors and have a chance to make the league. There is no perfect way to create player eligibility for a prospect ranking. This method has become my preference after trying all the other options.

Full individual evaluations of all players with tool grades and tiers that can be applied across all teams are found within each team’s ranking of its own players.

The rollout will be eight teams a day over four days, so check back here tomorrow for an update.

And now for the rankings:

1. Anaheim Ducks

2. Chicago Blackhawks

3. Buffalo Sabres

4. New Jersey Devils

5. Columbus Blue Jackets

6. Montreal Canadiens

7. Ottawa Senators

8. Detroit Red Wings

9. Seattle Kraken

10. Minnesota Wild

11. Philadelphia Flyers

12. Arizona Coyotes

13. San Jose Sharks

14. Carolina Hurricanes

15. New York Rangers

16. Nashville Predators

17. Dallas Stars

18. St. Louis Blues

19. Winnipeg Jets

20. Los Angeles Kings

21. Calgary Flames

22. Washington Capitals

23. Florida Panthers

24. Vancouver Canucks

25. Colorado Avalanche

26. Vegas Golden Knights

27. Toronto Maple Leafs

28. Edmonton Oilers

29. Pittsburgh Penguins

30. New York Islanders

31. Tampa Bay Lightning

32. Boston Bruins

I wonder how this plan to reduce tickets by zip code will affect the Canadian Sabres fans?

Seems very short sighted IMO.

Better solution, put an actual winning team on the ice. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1) Dylan Cozens
Tier: Bubble elite NHL player and NHL All-Star

2) Owen Power
Tier: NHL All-Star

3) Jack Quinn
Tier: Top of the lineup player

4) Zach Benson
Tier: Bubble top and middle of the lineup player

5) JJ Peterka
Tier: Bubble top and middle of the lineup player

I would swap Quinn and Peterka.

And this is without Ostlund, Walhy and Poltypov, who could all be here or ready by then too.

>>> Analysis: Ryan Johnson has played a big role on a top NCAA team the last few years even if the offensive numbers haven’t been there. Johnson’s skating is his calling card. He’s a very powerful skater with the speed and edge work to transition pucks in the NHL and close on fast forwards. He’s just an average-sized defender without a ton of skill or physicality so while I think his feet get him games I’m not sure what his exact NHL role would be.

>>> Analysis: Topias Leinonen had a tough season in Finland’s junior league. He’s a huge goalie with solid technique and sense so he certainly still has a chance to make it. He moves fine for a guy his size, but ideally, he adds more lower-half quickness because he’s probably too slow for the NHL level.
