People who don't want to upgrade the roster because of some insatiable thirst to prove adams right are not really interesting. Its been 13 years with no playoffs the team is on the brink and our GM has failed to fill holes in the roster for 2 offseasons.

They will be competitive im sure, nowhere near a lock to be a playoff team and its really getting old

So I don't think you can call Petry an upgrade over Clifton, especially given we needed a shutdown defender over an offensive guy. Given that Detroit had to trade assets away, I'm still not sure this moves the needle much given him being bottom pair. But it is a slight upgrade over Erik Johnson, I stand corrected.
