Where is that an upgrade for? He may be for Okposo, but wasn't coming here to play 4th line obviously. He isn't better than Tuch or Quinn. Is he better than Mitts? I am not so sure.

He played 12 minutes a night last year, so that likely wouldnt be a problem. He could play anywhere, on any line and would have been an upgrade over Okposo, Jost or Olofsson.

Teams do not "go for it" when they have yet to make a playoffs.

Whatever "going for it" means.

How does one "go for it" when they havent even been to the place where "it" is?

Having any sort of D structure will do far more for this team than any addition that could of been made this offseason.

They went to game 6 of the conference finals... Delusion at its finest.

Their goalie (whos a top 10 arguably top 5 goalie at 24) is what held them back... The additions are icing on the cake.

In the case of the Sabres, "going for it" means to make the playoffs...you know the post-season tourney that determines the league championship (Donnie will have to have a Lombardi-esq back-to-basics discussion with the team it has been so (frank)ing long).
For a team like the Hurricane's it would mean the SC.

Currently, KA is hoping the everything goes right for team to squeak in. The Season hasn't started yet and already he has his first injury to a L2 guy that was hoped to have a breakout season...thereby unleashing VO's -21 rating after popping in 28 G's himself last season (quite the accomplishment if you ask me)...that should really help, lol.

He is one and he's making chump change. The goal should always be to upgrade the roster wherever possible.

Yeah Olo isnt ideal. Team will have to pick up some slack. Give Krebs a chance to show something. Its really his last shot to be a top 9 player here IMO.

This is one move I alluded to with my comment about this seasons moves are questionable at best. Upgrading the 4C instead of Jost is another, and then the blocking of young guys with resigning Okslopoke, SirFallsAlot, Jost are others that can't be rationalized when next season they go for it (it being the playoffs) and have to inject 3 - 5 rookies.

That's also not my contention at all. I think the failure was not upgrading goalie and not getting a sure-fire 2nd pair guy.

- a 4C with a stellar 36% FO win rate and pounded in 5 G's last year playing higher in the lineup
- a return of some pretty, pretty good shot % with no regression
- Power not taking a sophomore slump.
