"Adams had*** all the cap space and has all the assets in the world to acquire basically whomever he wanted."

I asked again for the dumb people

Where was it said “I want Adams to overpay”

Balked or weren't willing to get fleeced, one of the two. We will never know, ever, ever, ever. BUT, if you found out we could've had Hellebucyk, but the lowest price was Levi+Savoie++, would you have done it? If so, what if more was added?

The point is, unless you're sitting in that room and know Adams declined a legitimate deal, all we can go off of is the guys that moved. To this point no one has said, "X player was a huge upgrade, gotten for cheap and we messed up", but I am still waiting...

- QuinnFan

A significant amount of players that have been moved were upgrades from what is currently on the roster.

….it’s almost like it’s not my job to know who and what is available.

Adams had*** all the cap space and has all the assets in the world to acquire basically whomever he wanted.

He hasnt shown the balls to do it.

- ImThatGuy

You don't know enough to say who was available, then how do you know enough to say Adams did a bad job? You're grading a paper without knowing the questions or answers.

Yep, nothing to do with him playing with a decent Veteran partner who can play 22min a night. Oh and he can play the PK
- Buff36

I would say its more to do with the player growing than being paired with a certain defensive d-man.

Their best stretch of the year was when he was with Letang the second time around.

There were plenty of UFA's and trades made this offseason that could've upgraded positions of need for the Sabres.

The Sabres have their core locked up, they have failed, every season at filling out the roster properly, this offseason was no different.

The roster is the answer, and it's not sufficient.

Clifton, Dumba, DeSmith could have been the offseason. If you like EJ and Comrie better, fair enough, but they could have done that if they had wanted to

The core is far from locked up.

They have Cozens and Tage on long term contracts. Skinner sure. beyond those 3 they have no other core up front. (For now)

Both #1 D not locked up. Samuelsson is.

Everyone knows the goalies are ? rookies. See what they become.

Disagree, they have their top 6 locked up for multiple years, JJ and Quinn on ELC's for 2 more season's

Samuelsson locked in for 7
Power on ELC
Dahlin on a bridge

and have filled these past 2 seasons with question mark players.

No, I liked Clifton and think he was one of the best options available. I said I didn't like the Okposo signing, that ship should've sailed, but am ultimately saying...based on what happened across the league...that not a lot of movement happened, so a lack of deals isn't something I hold against GMKA.

I'm just asking what justification you have for saying he did nothing and is too scared to make a deal. At least from what I saw there have been little to no deals made that I wish he had...so that's a stretch for me. Having assets doesn't mean that a good deal is available.

Dumba and EJ are both trash, so I guess take your pick.

DeSmith barely broke a .900 sv% on Pittsburgh...I wonder if he'd break a .860 here.

If those are the big upgrades we lost out on, I can definitely say we're looking for things to be mad at. Neither of those swaps is a needle mover.

As much as I like Quinn and JJ they aren't locked for top 6 spots.

JJ looks like hes gunna have that Cozens break-out year. We all want that.

Quinn could never be the same. FFS I got the guys name on the back of my Goat-head. Hopefully his recovery is damn near perfect.

The worst argument is the “who could he have gotten?” Argument

DeSmith has a career .912

Comrie has a career .897

No upgrade

Well he's going to be on a pretty bad Montreal team. We'll see if he outperforms Comrie/UPL or not
