It’s strange how we went from mid last seasons “they have an abundance of cap space to use to strengthen the roster next off season. Next off-season is the season to go for it”

To said off-seasons “who cares if they overpaid bad players it’s not like the cap mattered this year”

In the blink of an eye.

It’s reeks of defend at all costs.

Agreed, even with all of the top players on team friendly deals at this point.

I saw a trade prop of Hagel for Peterka and I kinda liked it.

Excellent article about what it takes to maintain the ability to play at a high level in the NHL, especially as you age like Letang.

Hagel > Peterka.

There is something distasteful about losing Peterka for a guy we refused to sign a few years back and let walk for free.

Doesn't that go against everything Adams has been doing?

doesn't make it less true.

but yeah, it does. you make that trade if you don't see Peterka becoming a 60 point winger.

Otherwise, you're probably not. He's 2 years away from hitting that, probably.

why did boston sign pasta when they're staring into the abyss

guess they could take their shot and try and sign Schiefele next year.

I view Peterka as their top up and coming forward, I consider Cozens established (which could be premature) and Quinn as unreliable at this point.

I would consider a Mitts for Hagel trade as more likely.

I like that idea but if you're Tampa I guess you're just looking for the higher ceiling offense because they're making the same money next year.

i won't count them out. i wonder if they play gross islanders style to stay alive. they have the talent to be in the playoffs but they are absolutely less dangerous in the offensive zone. marchand has already started to show his age.

Man UFA next year should be quite a scene. Ton of real talent on the board. And 4 million bump in cap.

Dahlin-Power
Samuelsson-Hanifin (but actually Pesce)
R Johnson-Clifton
Larry

neato.

They've got top players, they have solid defensive players, they have a couple goalies. It'll come down to how the Zacha's/Debrusk's do and if the centers can play a line up.

What's more important? Allen running for his life or protecting him. We drafted a player we did not need.
- SABRES 89

I respectfully disagree. We needed a playmaking TE. We also needed some OL help and they half-assed it.

Stop overreacting.

The Bills signed McGovern and drafted Torrence with a 2nd round pick. (He was considered the best guard in the draft)

Both current starters.

You are acting like beane did nothing.

I see we are back to 1 year deals for today's iteration of piss poor rationale

Why is it so hard to admit this offseason has been a major let down?

Overpaying replacement level players is not a path to success short or long term

Different when your talking about the walking injury chryrun though.......

Sure it is, one is a overpaid by 2mill 6/7 Defenseman on his last leg and the other is a Top 25 ranked D man making 4.6mill for the next 2 years that would have given us a good Top 4.
