I think he just has more of the prototypical center qualities. Mainly he's very strong on the puck, is good at puck retrieval and his shot is just as good getting passes from either side. He kind of fits a centerman's "profile" if you will.

Certainly possible they just haven't had the right opportunity and they try him. Quinn would have been in a similar spot, if not for pandemic rules. I wouldn't be surprised to see KA take the conservative route, but seems like he isn't going that way with Levi, so who knows.

Yeah, that was too much yo-yoing for too little games. If they give Savoie 9 and send him back I wouldn't see that as the Wright treatment. If they start pulling this AHL conditioning stint stuff after his callup, that's something else.

I, personally, don't have any issue with slow playing his 9 games while getting him time with NHL trainers / nutritionists and practicing at an NHL level vs dominating at the CHL level for the 3rd year in a row. Something like rotating him and Okposo where okposo is playing 2 games for every 1 that savoie gets.

He'd be up here for ~27ish games and then can go back CHL for some playoff hockey.

I think he's good at puck retrieval, but justifiably the coaches will gripe about his defensive effort sometimes. Have to engage to retrieve and, especially at the start of the year, was playing way too high and waiting for breakout passes.

He definitely got better as the year went, kid had to find his footing. He is so young.

Fair enough, I definitely didn't watch any full games so just going off one quote from Appert. And yea, I imagine most coaches are going to gripe about defense as much as they can (as long as they aren't named Granato).

Why wouldn't he want to come here? I've been told how awesome this team is, how great the GM is. Why wouldn't a guy late in his career want to come here?
