Fair enough. I dont hate Clifton, I think he brings some obvious things we lack but just feel its underwhelming as top 4 and unfair to expect him to be something he never has been

We will see

They are trying to be the Oakland As of the money ball era.

Of course you want jeff Petry 🙄
- Boss34

Petry is so good ….. he’s been traded 3-4 times in the last few years.

Gonna be a long several months until the trade deadline then I guess for many of you.

Would I have liked more activity this offseason ? Absolutely.

Just because it hasn’t yet, doesn’t mean they don’t have the means to do so.

Perhaps we are sitting here months from now happy we didn’t splurge assets because somebody becomes available that isn’t available today ?

- Swedish_Jesus

I'm sure you'll push the timelines again if nothing much happens by the trade deadline, under the guise of no move is better then a possible bad one.

What happened to no excuses summer?

Yeah but you realize we will draft the 6th best prospect 13th overall next year right?

Where’s the activity from any of the GM’s ?

I’m just as puzzled about this offseason as you are.

When players get dealt that are worthy to get upset about, I’ll get upset.

Until that day comes, upgrades to the roster have been made and further internal development gives Adams the ability to be patient to find the right deal for this franchise.

I’m optimistic until given a reason not to be.

I think they proved a lot of people wrong last season

95% of hockeybuzz said they were cooked from Nov-March on several occasions.

Yet they weren’t knocked out until the final week of the season.

the computer simulators showed the sabres should have been a playoff team, up until the blowouts to the bruins and stars

so in many ways they underperformed down the stretch

Im extremely disappointed they haven't made an actual trade. There also hasn't been a single trade made that I wish the Sabres had made.

I don't know who to be upset at lol

And other then Dimitry Orlov, I haven’t see a d-man transaction better suited then Connor Clifton to play those minutes beside Power or Dahlin yet this offseason.

Sure, Karlsson would make the Sabres better today.

That contract though would handicap them in years to come.

It’s important to solve a present problem without creating a future one.

Pittsburgh has one, maybe two years left with their core before it all goes to crap anyways. Good move for them

everyone says it will hurt down the road

we are talking about the sabres down the road, right

or are you changing the question on the fly?

good teams don't want to add a blah contract in olofsson, they want to get a little cap relief and move an experienced player for either picks, prospects, or young players on entry level contracts

we had the cap space to offer any of those for a few roster upgrades (a goalie, a decent top 4 RD, a middle 6 guy)

we get erik johnson and the burning question on twitter is if he can get 20 points this season

Time to get bold once again! Could Erik Johnson reach 20 points this season? #Sabres

and could possibly move bloom for nothing if stillman goes on waivers

The best odds of hitting on any those would have come in the trade market yet to materialize.

Unless the solution was giving 5 years to Korpisalo or Jarry ? 🤮

Nothing the Sabres have done this offseason is prohibiting them from doing anything in the trade market either.

How does being effectively close to the cap, and likely their budget, not prohibit anything?

They weren't in position to deal futures for Petry today, and that's just today.
