After a season like the Sabres had last, where would you put your excitement for the upcoming season on a scale of 1-10, has the offseason affected that number?

To me, the payers shined and exposed managements weaknesses last season, and the minimal effort put in this offseason by Adams and co. has me at a 4 for next season as I have no clue how it will play out and don't trust them to dig themselves out of a hole if they find themselves in one.

9 out of 10

Young possible star in net
Good season last year
Interal player growth and development
8 players that could be my favorite
Super likeable team overall.

4 is similar to the way you've been trolling the Sabres for months.

Did the 92.5 or 93.5 points over under, change your tune?

Weren't you at 85?

I think they should absolutely (kidding), the issue is we don't have the contending team yet (that Vegas bought) to make that an attractive option for vets.

But no, I want us to win our first one legitimately. I said it with Tampa Bay, I'll say it again now, this is obviously cap circumvention. Whether they're fined for it or the asterisk goes next to the SC win is superfluous. That cup was bought and paid for through expansion rules and cap circumvention plain and simple.

Can you show us where the rule is about Teams required to be compliant to the Regular Season's CAP rules during the Playoffs?

clifton is now a guy that could play with dahlin when a few months ago boston benched him

Montour and Mahura were healthy scratched on teams they played for before joining the panthers.

Yeah Montour really wasn't working out at left wing, pretty bold move by Florida putting him out there as a defensemen...

Mahura was a great find, would be great if Clifton worked out like he did.

I can show you a rule that says when a player is healthy they are supposed to come off of LTIR and that upon return the team must be cap compliant. How's that?

From there I guess any naysayers can argue that Kuch, Stone and Martinez all miraculously got better at playoff time...

90% of the league would consider missing the playoffs a bad season.

I'm hoping we enter the 90% of the league eventually

im pretty sure montour was scratched after playing D (or trying to any how) as well but my larger point it really doesn't matter.

Jost was being shipped to Iowa before he played for the Sabres.

Saw the other day that there are now over 170 ppl working in various analytics roles across the league. You're not gunna devon toews anyone anymore, this is where you find that edge. Some players are a potentially better fit here, others are misused etc.

Which one of those 170 uses charts to measure vibes?

As you say the parity is razor thin, the real winners will be finding the right personality to fit the room.

Jeff Skinner was also scratched.

We should continue to discuss it without mention of the Sabres employed the worst coach in the history of sports.

Kim being a President of PSE has little/nothing to do with the hirings above. Drury was blocked, Briere was blocked, Grier wasn't sought, and Vanek is a scout. All of these men have won as much as the Sabres in non-player roles.

Big fight at Bills practice, apparently someone was trying to Myles Garrett somebody else. Allen was saying it was all cool while you can see guys chirping each other in the background.
