After a season like the Sabres had last, where would you put your excitement for the upcoming season on a scale of 1-10, has the offseason affected that number?

To me, the payers shined and exposed managements weaknesses last season, and the minimal effort put in this offseason by Adams and co. has me at a 4 for next season as I have no clue how it will play out and don't trust them to dig themselves out of a hole if they find themselves in one.

Exiting last season it was like a 7 or 8. After this lack of movement in the off-season it has dropped back to about your 4 or a 5. Catch me on a good optimistic day and it’s a 6

Well I would say I was excited. It looked like Adams plan was starting to work. I still think he made a mistake not getting a Dman in November December range when we where being crushed with D injuries and of course a Goalie. People can spin it anyway they want it cost us a Playoff spot. But I was hoping with the Cap Space and Assets he had he would have played the market better this offseason. I like the Addition of Clifton but there are still Questions about him and what he can handle and Johnson is blah. If you were bringing in Clifton and Johnson then how much Leadership do you need. Once Girgensons signed it pretty much signaled how this Off-season was going to go. Funny thing is after 4yrs we still have Questions at Goalie where I really like Levi but you are asking a lot from a guy with 7 games played. And Defense. I hope Adams plan keeps evolving but I am back to a 5 and it's a weak 5.

Thanks for sharing, looks like we all agree this offseason was a total dud and has had an impact on excitement for next season, I wonder how the players (Dahlin) feel as well.

To me, this offseason is a combination of:

- A rookie GM letting emotions control decisions

- Ownership's bad name continues to push away FA, prior to Pegula it was just Buffalo as a location, I don't think location is an issue anymore due to the roster, it's purely ownership. How much does this impact Adams relationships with other GM's?

- They planned on waiting to compete until 24/25, which is absolutely wild, and they are actually sitting on their hands waiting.

Does not hearing anything solid on Dahlin and a extension say anything to what you asked ?

And the bad thing is they really told us all that about 24/25 before FA even started with bringing both Larry's back when they did.

This is what broke me, when they both signed early and were both overpaid. I'm not going to get into this again as we beat these 2 up all summer.

If he signs a 1 year deal does that bring him to UFA? He could be going the same route as Skunk.

We can watch them be awful and get beat up all winter, while Meatball tells us how valuable they are and their leadership is 2nd to none.

"Yeah thanks for asking about Dahl's, we are working with his agent and trying to find the best solution for all involved...at the end of the day we want players who want to be here and that has conditions attached to it"

Think Kevyn should change his look, just Shave the Head. How can you take him seriously starring at that Big Old Bald Forehead.

"Adams and Granato are much higher on Jokiharju than the fan base, though. He’s performed well at times in a top-four role and there’s confidence within the organization that he’s yet to play his best hockey.

"This might be Jokiharju’s last opportunity to carve out a long-term role in Buffalo. He’s still needed on the Sabres’ roster because he, unlike others on this list, can skate more than 20 minutes per game next to Dahlin or Owen Power."

This is the offseason before Botts got fired all over again, almost to a T.

That's not even the best quote:

"No one on the team had worse luck in the defensive zone, but Bryson is still an exceptional player who can excel at breaking the puck out of his end of the ice. He’s been slow to progress in his defensive game, though, and remains a liability in front of his own net. At 5-foot-9, Bryson must be sharper in his attention to detail than someone with a longer reach or more strength. He has enough upside that teams lacking blue-line depth would be interested for the right price."
