Funny Age Out in the East!!
Interesting Sabres are doing the same thing with Tuch and Skinner. While Adams brings Vibes and Backyard Barbecues.

He is the interesting one IMO. The season just past is the first of this contract period in which he produced anywhere near what he should for his Cap Hit...finally at 1 PPG.

Does he regress as he has done a couple times in his career?

He had a good 21-22 and built on it last year. Seems to be getting to be a better all around player with his passing as he gets older. Who's ro say he doesn't hit 90 points this year.

Which is supposedly how most teams handle their business, which I don't believe, unless a team has little concern of winning the cup.

The Sabres being bottom line, nickel and dime oriented as their owner's focus, is a surprise to nobody.

I should have added the caveat that includes his extension as part of it. Most teams won't fire a guy first year into his new deal if the money/tickets keeps going up.

The fact that I wasn’t the slightest bit petty when Jack won the cup because of how this fanbase blamed him for everything I think was the icing on the cake

One will be 35yrs old coming of Major Hip Surgery costing 5 to 7mill and not knowing if he will be able to contribute most of the year. Not taking away Kane's talent. He is just a huge ? mark for this year.

The Sabres aren't most teams:

- Darcy fired in 2013 "Pegula was unable to express an exact reason why Regier was fired other than stating it was time."

https://www.statista.com/...the%202021%2F22%20season.

- GMTM fired in 2017, had an extension that didn't even kick in yet

https://thehockeywriters....bres-gm-tim-murray-fired/

- Botts fired in 2020, directly after an extension

I think this is why he won't do it anymore right? its burned him so often. I think the botterill firing only happened cause he wasn't willing to fire the staff that pegula wanted him to get rid of.

No clue, Terry is a mess. 89 stated that Pegula was done paying out dead money, so results aside, if there is a contract that employee is staying lol.

As for Botts, yes that's what was reported, Adams came in and cleaned house, then him and Terry just copied Botts plan. (just slower as Adams still was in management school)

Yeah I didn't mean to be snarky to 39 when i first said it but I just meant that all things considered most ownership groups aren't inclined to terminate a guy this early in his deal if the fans are still (relatively) happy and the money is coming in. Even winning teams, especially if the owner buys into the GMs plan.

Kroenke was notorious for being stingy with all his sports teams just a few years before they all won championships (yes i know I cant compare the two owners thats tangential to the point).

Also, on ice results didn't stop the organization from growing profits almost steadily throughout Terry's ownership........

My post above shows that losing aside, the Sabres find a way to increase profits almost every year which to me says a lot about owning a winter entertainment organization in a colder than cold place with 0 competition.

I’m with ya.

Eichel still lives rent free in a lot of Sabres fans heads. It’s….interesting to say the least.

I should've corrected my post, its revenue not profits. I'm not sure what their annual burn rate is compared to the revenue so I don't know if they are profitable.
