Was Cal Petersen on it? Remember how much hype he had at the time.
- Lunaion

Anders Bjork and Andrew Oglevie were on his team 2 of the top 3 scorers

they were a team that overachieved but scored a bit

one time sabres prospect Connor Hurley was also on the team

Another example of a goalie getting hot, getting a 3 year $15M deal, then flaming out.
- Swedish_Jesus

If you call a .911 save percentage over 35 games "hot"

They took a shot on him and it flamed out spectacularly

This is either complete brilliance or complete annoyance, and that is a fine line between the two of them.

I find it more than coincidental that "non human biologicals" have been revealed in congressional hearings and rsh suddenly shows up.

It certainly didn't hurt. He's a top-5 American goaltender of all-time. Maybe top-2

I'm as bullish as anyone on Levi - I think he might be really good immediately. But this is a highly unorthodox path for a goalie to take and it's a major risk considering what is behind him in net (nothing)

- Hank Balling

Richter(playing in the time he did to have a SV% over .900 is spectacular), Quick(only because he has rings), Miller, Beezer, Hellebuyck*

Tim Thomas would probably be in there if he was in the NHL the whole time and not bouncing between IHL, ECHL, AHL, and Europe.

Two players that had no business falling out of the top 10 of their drafts but did so anyways because of size

Between this pick, and the eventual extension of Dahlin to an 8 year deal, hard to grade this offseason at anything less then a “B” even with the moves that haven’t been made to date

Making a draft pick and a possible extension are enough for you?

To win Stanley Cups you need elite players.

Locking a Norris caliber d-man to an 8 year deal that will take him to age 31, meanwhile drafting a player that looks like a top line talent in a couple years gets you closer to that goal no ?

The problem is signing dahlin is an inevitability if he wants to stay

Getting lucky someone slid to you in the draft isn't credit worthy. Perhaps a bit of credit for picking the guy that others passed on for whatever reason

This offseasons grade relies on levi succeeding and the team making the playoffs. Visually its a D at best for me

Does Adams not get credit for steering the team in a direction that Dahlin would want to commit the next 8 years of his career to ?

That would be giving him credit for not being a tire fire. Like great, but kind of a low bar?

It's one way to look at it. Neither does anything to help them this year. I think most had higher expectations to improve the team this summer that he hasn't come close to meeting.

While I give him credit for the Thompson contract, he lucked into him becoming a star and reportedly had him on the trade block before it happened. He made out well on the eichel trade and no one can take that from him. Levi is still largely an unknown. Drafting power was a no brainer.

Forgive me if im missing someone but otherwise this really isnt even his team. His drafting looks good but again, its all futures and unknowns. The players he has brought in to surround the young talent have been subpar at best. Massive holes on the roster from two years ago that still haven't been addressed. The wasted cap space on replacement level players and a sniper who doesn't have a spot in our lineup anymore. Why do we have 14 AHL goalies?

The gymnastics some people do to credit adams is confusing. I get the optimism around the team but I dont feel like much of it has to do with moves he has made. Between last offseason and this one it is becoming past time to put his stamp on the roster.

Is his signature move going to be the eichel trade? The one he had no choice on?

Its a playoffs or pitchfork season for me. No more excuses and no more telling us how hard being a GM is

Maybe Miller didn’t need to play 150 games in the AHL ?

We’ll never know

Oh no, he did. He showed flashes but he was awful his first dozen or so games and the lockout happened iirc.

Yep, I think TM would have shown people that. Went out and got some big names in the Top 6 but never finished the team around them.
