That is undeniably fair.

Levi = year 1 Mittelstadt

UPL = Marcus Johansson

Good luck everyone!

- Hank Balling

Yup.

I make this point a lot but people love all prospects until they are 21-22 years old and they have a 46% Xgf and their RAPM chart is a little too red.

Johansson is actually a pretty solid middle 6 forward, I don’t think that’s the right comparison

I think Levi is better suited to the job than Mittelstadt was in year one but it's still a risk and I don't believe in their backup a-tall

But he wasn’t a 2C

That’s also the year/years where Terry wouldn’t let JB trade Risto for Ehlers or a possible 2C

He was a solid middle-6 winger who was forced to be a 2C and was never suited to that role

Levi could be amazing year 1 who knows.

It’s still a prospect with a tiny sample size

That’s normal for stadium builds.

Mean while the titans new stadium preview is a dome and looks beautiful.

Buffalo stadium only has a couple slides so far with subpar renderings.

- Sabretooth9

Dude they just started digging the whole, being 300mill over isn't a good thing. Especially when Pegula has to flip that part of the Bill.

Goalies are absolute voodoo.

Comrie can show up out of camp and all of a sudden save 10 goals above expected this year.

Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to that position.

With that being said, I absolutely did not expect him to go into the year with Levi/UPL/Comrie and that is definitely the one area of the team I have concern with.

My best-case scenario is that he finishes with a .908 over 55 games. He would be a firm Calder candidate and then it's up to UPL to navigate the other +/- 30 games.

This was a reaction to the now-known Eichel trade request. He wanted out, they fired Botterill and then Ralph pulled his strings to land Hall while Adams traded for Staal to placate Eichel
- Hank Balling

Jason Botterill also has a family connection to Krueger. Botterill’s father Cal, now a well-regarded sports psychologist, was Krueger’s fifth-grade teacher in Winnipeg more than 40 years ago, before Jason was born. Krueger also received a hearty recommendation from Jason’s old boss in Pittsburgh, Jim Rutherford, who had employed Krueger as a consultant for five seasons when he’d been running the Carolina Hurricanes.

"As much as he has a unique resume, you look at it, he is a kid from Manitoba who loves the game of hockey," said Botterill at his press conference in Buffalo on Wednesday.

Though he’d originally said he wasn’t interested in returning to coaching after leaving Southampton earlier this year, Krueger had a change of heart after talking with Botterill. "There was nothing that lit my fire as much as my conversations with Jason," he said during a conference call with media. "I could just feel the coaching magnet pulling me back."

KA's had the advantage of a flat cap making that a lot easier. JB also had pressure to win. I think they are the same in their development philosophy. KA hired an analytics team, so huge credit there, just wished he used them more.

He's too busy making sure all the staff feel warm and fuzzy and highly valued, even if their opinion is hot poop.

To your original point, Krueger somehow conned Pegula into a 3 year/$15m deal.

Un (frank)ing believable.

I would trust any poster here to do a better job

Any scenario in which Comrie and Luukkonen share the net due to injury or poor performance from Levi

maybe, but maloney being at fault is equally likely. What little has been made public about him is not at all flattering.

My worst case is basically this except Luukkonen has a hot month where his sv% looks good cause theyre getting some shooting luck (against).

End up in another "we're not sure if we can move on from this guy" scenario.

I can't remember if miller was considered a phenom?

I dont think so, and I like miller.

- Boss34

The only difference between Levi being called a phenom and Miller not is the advent of social media.

Miller also played for a 33-5 team and Levi led the NCAA in goals saved above expected both years.

Again, social media, as I highly doubt goals saved above expected was a thing 20 years ago.
