I keep coming back to the fact that Granato viewed Olofsson as unplayable during meaningful games down the stretch, and now not only is Olofsson still on the team, he's likely to have an elevated role due to Quinn's absence.

That's not a great response from the GM to his coach. There's a disconnect there for whatever reason

Some of these responses are wild. I said I thought the Sabres should’ve done more this off-season & some people are reacting like I said the Sabres will never win another game. You can be optimistic about the long term vision while questioning the lack of moves this summer

Tatar is almost a perennial 20g guy who has had just 3 minus seasons in his career.

He is the middle 6 two way forward we are missing

783gp 455pts, he will play 1000 games without a doubt. Olofsson is going to be out of the league in 2 years or less

So Olofsson actually improved last year.

I’m not arguing against Tatar, but I am not as down on Olofsson as some other fans are. We had rotten team defense last year and putrid goaltending yet Olofsson trended slightly up defensively.

I was actually surprised to see that Mitts played all 82 last year, but let’s not act like the top-9 had any defensive phenoms in it at F.

Him in the press box is the lesser of two evils though, and they have been pretty vocal in saying that he’s available for trade.
