He wants a high skill speed team based upon his drafting. Resigns girgs and okposo then goes and gets EJ. Says we need to get tougher does nothing to address it this off season. We still don’t have a proven nhl starting goalie.

He said he wants to win more than you can imagine though....his actions this summer show he is in limbo. His 5 year plan requires adjustments but he doesn't know how to make the adjustments, this will negatively effect the organization in may ways. The fans have been here before, Adams hasn't.

Unless like 3 players have break out seasons (one being Levi and another being cliffton) I can’t see this team showing any improvement

Agreed and the true repercussions are:

- Dahlin choosing not to resign
- Core players requesting trades
- FA's continuing to blacklist Buffalo
- no playoffs

Only to have new rookie management take over since no vet GM wants to work with Terry and this cycle repeats.

He has to at least be a Calder finalist for this team to be a playoff team, right?

If he matches Stuart skinners stats from last season I think that has to put us in the playoffs. Unless we have injuries or major regression on offense

You don't see Levi and Clifton as being better than who they are replacing.

levi is a rookie

no guarantee he is ready now

his height may be an issue the second time a team plays him and the nhl scouts find his weaknesses

clifton playing 22 minutes may be no better than an overplayed joker getting 22 minutes

Would it be enough to get the Sabres into the playoffs?

50 starts for Levi means asking what would the team be getting for the other 32 starts.

Levi replacing Anderson - that's a toss up and the chance are slim for a rookie goalie behind a run and gun style offense.

Clifton - who is he replacing?

Dahlin - top 2 Dman
Power - top 4 Dman
Samuelsson - TBD top 4 - injuries are a concern with him
Joker - 5/6 dman
La-Busch-can - 5/6 dman
Stillman 7 dman
Bryson - AHL
E Johnson - 5-7 dman

Clifton currently is rated a 5/6 dman, is management hoping he can play top4 or is Adams, similarly with UPL and the forwards...hoping Joker and the crew can all step up?

Could be the biggest thing holding up a Dahlin extension. He may not like what he sees so far with GMKA moves to make us a contender. Dahlin doesn’t want to be Eichel, have to be forced to request a trade because we miss the playoffs for the 12,13,14th year or what ever.
Can’t say I blame him. If KA is finished with his roster, and it seems likely at this point, why would Dahlin lock into a LTD knowing this guy is potentially driving the bus for the majority of it?

Are they upgrades or no? I strongly agree Clifton is the same as Joker...but are you also saying it's likely that Levi repeats with Andy, Comrie and UPL did as a unit last year? I would suspect both are upgrades personally.

Interesting, I thought Andy looked spent last year, but okay.

Clifton will likely move a guy like Lyubushkin or Bryson out of the lineup. Upgrade?

Very well said, his agent has to of explained this scenario...this gushy love affair garbage used as justification isn't enough for a superstar athlete to commit their prime to a team.

Roster is potentially worse this year last. We were exposed down the stretch. Our PP struggled mightily, many guys with career years because we caught many teams off guard with Tage break out early on. Roster as it sits is heavily reliant on Levi being a top 10-15 goalie in the league, and that might not be enough.
Okposo will be a liability and over used this year.
Defense is marginally better, and mainly because Power has a year under his belt, but does he suffer the dreaded sophomore slump like may young Dmen do? It’s entirely possible.
This team as it sits is all hope and pray we get in.
The rest of the East continues to upgrade their rosters making that even tougher.
I’m not sure there are many Sabres fans who can handle another playoff miss

Maybe he took a vacation from his vacation.
