Another reason why they should stop (frank)ing around and start going for it.

What's bust mean to you?

Likely there would be no repercussions for management or coaching, second most likely scenario is that the assistant coaches get fired, and third most likely Granato gets fired.

KA is safe. I don't believe this organization has expectations

If Tuch has 2 more seasons like the last one, the decision above becomes a lot more difficult.

How many Sabres prospects profile like Tuch?

He's a unique player, and it's not like the Sabres have prospects like him.

- kingcong39

Decision will be tough.
I have wanted him on the team many years ago, so I do appreciate his game and current value.

At the same time, a smart GM knows when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. The decision becomes easier when a full pipeline is available. It is not said that the styles need to be the same, just the production should be similar at the position.

Tuch brings a needed element to the team, no doubt...the FO needs to identify other options for what he brings and not be dependent on a name.

Not talking retribution at this point, talking attitude to get it frigging done this next season. If his team busts, that can be discussed at that time depending on the reasons.
So far, it isn't good enough...too much risk.

Give Mike Bales 6 goalies who could all reasonably be in Rochester, then fire him him for it.

I think that’s a tad bit harsh.

He has set this team up for sustained success for a long time with the contracts he’s handed/about to hand out and the way he’s drafted since he’s been here.

Eventually though the future needs to become the present.

We could fire Adams tomorrow but he’d still be a huge reason why this city could see a parade this decade.

There where a lot of decisions that needed to be made this year, and if things don't fall into place. Adams has made those decisions too fold if that happens.

If Dorsey can get Cook involved in 20-25 plays a game, he's gonna have a good year. I could see him taking a few to the house.

The question is whether this is a playoffs or bust season.

I dont think it is.

The team has never talked about winning as the priority. It's still about quote-unquote development

This year's development should be about performing under pressure.
A young roster last year struggled with it, ultimately losing playoff ground in early March that proved to be critical. As an example:
- set the bar reasonably high; 100 points
- winning record on the road (42+ pts)
- 70% of points at home (=57 pts)
- less than 245 GA
- no more than 2 losses in a row, with less than 4 occurrences of 2 game losing streaks

I don't believe this roster as currently constructed has an adequate probability of the above happening.

They are going to need more than the Grandpa vibe...who's going to step up and lead the charge? I'd place my bet on Dahlin being the guy to throw down the gauntlet. I've felt it since they drafted him...he is the future Captain.

Beautiful night in the Bronx, Yankees pitcher got shelled in the 1st. They put chicken finger bowls on top of cups now, god bless America

they let a potential future NHL head coach leave instead of getting a promotion in Peca

I still wonder if Donnie did not add him to his staff so he would not be looking over his shoulder, like Ralph did with Chris Taylor
