I sat 13 rows up from Hellebuyck's blueline last night. I'm not telling any of you something you don't know: this guy is fantastic. So calm, so big, so good.

I'm real jealous.

Over his career, Helle has been consistent in bouncing back and playing "vezina level" after a tough outing.... being the Detroit game.

Worst thing a coach could do is "not play him" the next game after a tough game.

I think we should get both Meir and Karlsson.

Apparently asking price for Karlsson is "3" 1st round picks and SJ would retain 18% salary, if Karlsson would waive his nmc.

Thanks for the perspective lacaprup, and a buffalo fan would know a fantastic goalie (Hasek, Barasso and Miller come to mind)

No one is giving them that. No one.

The Sharks should maybe add in a pick (let alone get some picks in return) to get some team to take that contract off their hands.

Wait it out. See if they cave at the deadline.

Start with:
Karlsson (@8.5) and Meier
For
Wheeler, Pionk, any prospect or pick from the next 2 seasons

The fun part is he was a top 10 goalie last season (as was Comrie, oddly enough), and that was considered worrisome

Karlsson and Meier would both come at a similar price. I think the Jets D overall is top four in the NHL and the Jets could really use one more solid top-line type player like Meier. Getting both is a ridiculous gamble that Chevy would never take.

IMO Meier would would be much harder to get, a top end forward. The Sharks would love to get rid of Karlsson (contract).

My wishes for the deadline, as of now, is a top-six forward (worried about Perfetti when the going gets going), an upgrade on the b-line - or a guy like Gudas or Schenn (toughness). And ...maybe..a guy like James Reimer.

Guys like Lambert, McGroarty, one of Heinola, Samberg or Stanley (not sure which) would be in play, but hopefully not our 2023 1st. Maybe Pionk?

IMHO, there is no way that Samberg gets traded.

Can't imagine Karlsson would ever waive for Winnipeg.

Also seems unlikely that Meier would extend with the Jets.

Neither are realistic trade targets for the Jets imo.

I certainly hope not, as well! But someone has to go.

Samberger just keeps getting better and better!

No, I think Karlsson wants to play in the bright lights or warm climate. Gut feeling!

Now Meier I think there is a slim possibility he might re-sign with the Jets, but who knows? If Jets are successful and he likes the locker room and $$$, maybe an outside chance? Hopefully his Junior line-mate Ehlers gives him a good report!

I have that same feeling on Perfetti being able to handle the tough going in playoffs.........

In the Pittsburgh game, I was watching old man Wheeler skating circles around Perfetti and was wondering wtf was up with him, as he was slow, slow, slow....... and then the announcers said he was battling flu bug and he finishes with 3 assists. lol

But, come playoffs, thats when the tough slugging starts and I have some concerns so adding another top 6-9 gritty forward could have some benefit.

Will be watching a guy like Lawson Crouse today.

My feeling right now is he's a decent player, but makes too many $$$ and has four years left on contract - maybe too many $$$ and too much term?

$4.3 m for another 4 years.

Maybe Crouse and Lowry will go for round II......
