Suspicions that it will be The Hyman. I wouldn't expect more than 45-50 points at any time in his career. He's a winger version of Bozak. Not great, not bad, but miscast as a top 6 forward and reaps rewards for playing with legitimate talent. |

Babcock philosophy on line creation: two talented guys + one grinder to get them the puck. |

Can't mess with success, I guess. Our two talent pairs are so strong, I don't think it matters who is the extra on the line.
Even our grinders have enough talent for me not to get mad about it.
If we had:
Komarov-Auston-WillyNye
Martin-Johnny-Mitch
as lines, then I'd probably be pissed off. Obviously this never could of happened yes yes i know, but the intended principle is sound. |

Unfortunately Hyman. But I hope at some point it's Andreas Johnsson. |

Babcock is not the only one with that idea. Fairly common. There is only one puck so having 3 puck guys can be counter productive. Some refine it even more to a play-making center, scoring winger, and a grinding winger... |

probably true..
but he hit 40 in his second season.. so its not that far fetched..
It's not like he's going to be playing with any less talented linemates.. |

So its:
Marleau- Matthews- Willy
Hyman-Johnny T-Marner
?
Why does Marleau automatically go to the first line? I know Babcock indicated this, but what about pairing him with Kadri? Hyman with Matthews, Johnsson with Johhny T? That seems more balanced to me and give Marleau (who is old) a little less ice time??? |

The wingers should just draw straws before every game to figure out which center they get. It'll keep the opponent guessing. |

There is no 1st line anymore. For a lot of teams there isn’t a “1st line”.
Teams want a balanced attack...it’s how you win games these days |

It’s the no PP time where Hyman falls a bit.
In fact, we don’t know how Tavares and Marner will produce 5v5. I’m sure they will produce well but Matthews is one of the top 5v5 players in the league today...will Hymans point totals drop a little bit? Maybe. |

Yes, that's why I was saying put Marls with Kadri. More balanced attack IMO. And we do have (2) first lines. |

Might as well! Cant really go wrong with the amount of talent. It will all come down to chemistry between pairs of players. |

My thought was to keep Matthews and nylander together and marleau and kadri together and put Tavares and marner together. Keep pairs together and figure out the other winger on each of the 3 lines |
