I thought the same thing but lack of speed didn't stop them from taking a run at JVR

But jvr is a sniper and legit that’s the difference

Sorry, this line of thinking is completely wrong.
The evidence was played out ijn spades in the Tampa-Caps series.
ONE OF the primary reasons the Caps won is they took Kucherov completely out of the last 2-3 games of that series with tough, hard nosed play. Wilson was a key contributor, leader really with his dominant physical play, aided by Obi, Is his, etc. He simply disappeared, refusing to go to the boards and front of they next. Caps took away the Lightning's best player, pure and simple.

To think physical play is not impactful i s simply ridiculous.

If I may add a name to the conversation.... Myles Wood
Good skater, decent hands, young, tough as nails, Born in Buffalo. New Jersey probably wouldn't part with him though because good teams need players like him.

Man I love that buffalo produces hockey players but there's only one good hockey player and that's Patrick kane and that's it

Not every person that comes from Buffalo is a superstar
And we have to have him because he's from Buffalo

And I can't wait until we're actually good so we can stop talking about (frank)ing Ryan Reaves and how we need that type in the lineup smh

Let's get some legit snipers please

Can some one name one in our lineup ?

Besides goalofsson

You either have to trade for one or tank and get one

Or trade for one that's young a could have potential to be one

But right now the sabres have zero ammo to get a legit one Jake , other scraps aren't going to get a star probably someone that has potential to be a star someday and not a sure thing

A sure thing would be trading Ristolainen or sam for one

And people are going to say we could trade the first round picks

A) we still haven't gotten any indication that you could trade a conditional pick

B) what team is going to give up a star player for a draft pick that they might not see for two years if anything I think the pics that we have right now are not valuable to other teams

Well, we got a pretty decent one for a 4th and a cap dump, and we’re in on JVR, Grabner, and apparently Maroon.

They’re available all the time.

Nope.
Smh on those who deny it, just the same as with no culture.

- IonSabres

I think that's the disconnect, one side is talking about goons like peters who don't contribute (gerbe side) while you are talking about actual physical players that can still play hockey, like Wilson.

While these types of guys won't ever be playoff MVP to say they are irrelevant is totally wrong.

No, I wasn't short

Guys like wilson are really nice. Cheap , cup winner.
I'd take 2 more.

You still have to be tough, do you watch nhl playoff hockey?

- Boss34

If it’s Wilson, sure
Bc he can actually play hockey too
I’d take 2 of him

There’s a difference between playing tough, and just being a tough guy who offers little else
Besides others that have been mentioned,
Bailey & Baptiste stoke me as guys who can play tough

It’s not that I’m shunning the “toughness” factor, but the guy has to be able to play as well

The time for 4th line tough guys that play 6min a night is over

From reading the comments, seems like it's a given that Reinhart would have no hope of playing well in the playoffs due to the heightened physicality.

That's an awfully large assumption to make, and it's one I don't agree with.

Wilson’s career high before this season was 7 goals.

Why is he so popular all the sudden? He scored 14 goals playing with two highly skilled line mates. That’s actually a bad season for a regular top 6 player

I agree and raise it to 7th

Toronto
Boston
Tampa
Pittsburgh
Washington
Columbus

I’d put Philly ahead of us too,
but goaltending could hurt them
