The point you miss is Karlsson is an elite talent in his prime. No matter what happens going forward, might regret it a couple years down road. We haven’t drafted anyone that is considered a generational talent. It’s very rare for that type of player to become available in free agency. Tavares was a total screw up by isles. It’s even rarer for teams to win without them. You don’t pass locking up a guy for next 6-7-8 years because you think we don’t have a shot at cup next year. You don’t want to give up some assets, but you think Tampa will and they’ll give us some too just to take Cally?

5 years ago we had a right side of Dan Girardi, Anton Stralman and Kevin Klein. All 3 at that time could still skate well and make players. As for the centers, while none were 1's, they had great depth that beat Flyers, Penguins and Canadiens.

What are you talknig about? What the Rangers didn't have was composure and an elite goal scorer.

It’s why I was so surprised we passed on Dobson. Not only was he the best player available but also the biggest need for the team. Hopefully Kravtsov turns out to be everything they say he is.
